  1. quite a generalisation i know but i always considered the brits trying to be a bit different whereas the yanks try to conform, and i don't think country music has ever really been as widely accepted in the uk although i can see there has recently been a push to promote it..yikes.
  2. i started to get various aches and pains with old age ...after dosing up on across the board supplements including collagen the pains abated. Not sure what i was lacking exactly but levels in your body do start to wain as you get older so maybe try this.
  3. couldn't help thinking that maybe it was over tightened ..does happen but for that to happen you need to be as dumb as me.
  4. i have rung up a vendor about a faulty keyboard ...after some investigation it embarrassingly turned out to be some low profile packaging left under the keys that i didn't know was there ..sometimes videos are exchanged just in order to see if its something daft ..no point in returning something that might be ok ..the vendor assumes everyone is a potential idiot which i can well understand.
  5. i suspect it depends on the humidity when it was manufactured relative to your controlled environment...in my experience mm is the biggest offender by far.
  6. whenever I wander around a music shop I often just grab basses and guitars off the wall to play ..sometimes I get one that's a real player.. then I look at the price ..and then I quickly put it back on the wall.
  7. I have seen this exact same problem on a few of my thick poly finish guitars in south east Asia.. most notable on a stingray ..in fact its quite common to witness others with the same exact issues on the local guitar forums down there. The culprit I suspect is the high peak humidity's in that area of the world ..if the bass is manufactured in a dry environment or country abroad, sealed up in a poly finish and then exported to a humid country..as the solid body takes in water it expands.. I have even had neck plates crack with this force of nature.. if I hadn't see this with one my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it.
  8. boomer pension funds are scewing the bass market right now ..
  9. they may have done once but not anymore according to a chat i and last week with them ...apparently their jig has busted?

  11. just looking at the hooky headstock ..cant see any tapering going on so i think these strings wont fit.
  12. is there are large markup for handwound custom sets?
  13. old thread i know... reading through this there seems to be little awareness that there are two lengths of vi strings depending on whether you have the fender bass vi trem assembly or the hard tail like the hellcat. So many of the vi string sets are aimed at the fender vi which means the tapered end to fit into the guitar tuners is in the wrong place for say the hellcat. I know ernie ball do the taper in the right location for the hellcat because they are purpose made for the mm silhouette bass which is pretty much the same ..ie a hardtail. My problem is i actually have the silhouette bass but i dont like the lightness of the e-e ernie ball 90 on the lowe e...but obviously i cant just go out and buy any set that says vi ...i was hoping the labella hellcat vi set might be the answer but they are being discontinued ..so what do hellcat vi owners have now apart from ernie ball which is just one set option???
  14. this is exactly what i did from this forum ..picked up a good secondhand example at the mentioned price and it did not disappoint ...the perfect mini combo that can handle a low b at room volumes.
  15. seems like this pedal has great reviews.. curious as to why you want to sell?
  16. it just looks so awkward ..
  17. i'm really impressed with the longevity and feel of phenolic, prefer it over ebony, rosewood or epoxy..all used with roundwounds or groundwounds.
  18. the tascam model12 springs to mind ..its essentially their old 80s portastudio rebooted into this century ...its workflow is pretty much the same ie multitracking without too many bells and whistles getting in the way...only difference is that this time around there are about twice as many tracks and its digital.
