  1. it's going to be game to see which one collapses first ..ozzy just has to sing but bill has to drum, and it's not easy drumming.
  2. me too ..i can't deal with just one string tuned down and bead was not giving me the highs and anything below d was not discernible which by trial and error brought me naturally to drop d standard ... this half way house sort of prevented me from wandering over to the dark side of 5 stringers.
  3. drop d standard on 4 is the sweet spot ..
  4. status graphite double neck...
  5. throughout all of their lowpoints and god knows there have been many... you cannot take it away from either of them, their legacy was already cemented in the 70s ...even we cant dance or their final gig cannot erase.
  6. whos underrating? ..since i can recall the sun has shone out of
  7. would you trade for a boiler?
  8. i'm no expert but i find a beeswax spray polish on my natural wood finishes always works well without causing any harm.
  9. all i can hear is a stingray with a new set of round wounds .. any decent amp would do.
  10. whatever you say don't mention the scottish play ..
  11. i found calling them is the best approach, even leaving a voice message to dawn directing her to the email , 8am onwards british time ..i wouldn't risk experimenting long distance with other sources, just try to get the hot wires. Best to keep any emails to the point short and sweet. ps ..you can i think just order online via their website ..no need for emails just an address and credit card...post is calculated, status send stuff all over the globe ..hotwire strings are competitively priced ..well at least they were when i last got some.
  12. i think i called them about this ..unless things have changed they don't do double ball.
  13. when i saw the title of this thread i immediately thought of this one.
  14. makes me laugh ..dots on fretted but when it comes to fretless oh no ..not required.
  15. i would be playing jah wobble bass lines on this one.
  16. .. ok.
  17. i was here initially for the low ball nut jokes ...but the problem is a bit like neck curvature, you need to be able to pull the string down on the first fret fretted at the second but only just like a razors width, if it's not doing that then you might need a new nut or at least something under the string at the nut to raise it a tad. Of course nuts can wear, every time you tune up it's gets worn albeit very slightly.
  18. when i first began playing bass in the seventies i started off using a sponge mute purely from my own invention since there was no internet in those days to get ideas from and i was trying to figure out how to play this instrument completely from a self discovery/ self taught point of view and at some stage i must have thought it was easier to simply palm mute...never looked back on that one.
  19. now if they could just bring in a banjo..
  20. the sign originally said "no testing".
  21. i'm surprised he had the front to repackage the rio bassline quite so obviously.
