You may now delete your basschst account. 😄
I'm sure the usual suspects will pipe up in a minute. Haters gonna hate!

I highly recommend the Neotech Mega.
I've used one for over five years with no issues. Better made than the Comfort Strapp and does not slide like the Mono GS1.

I noticed that there are now 50,615 Basschatters registered on our little site. Others may know differently, but I got to thinking that there's probably somewhere around 300 'regular' names popping up across a variety of threads - and I feel that's being generous. Where are the other 50,315? Was it something I (or you) said? 🤔
Bots or banned!

What does YOUR ad say?
I couldn't find anything that was interesting at all on Bandmix. Once I'd sorted my own profile I had lots of requests. Good bass players are in short supply and I think anyone with a decent band isn't going to be advertising for random bass players, they'll be choosing people.
Basically, don't be looking for a band, be the bass player the bands are looking for. Let them do the work.
State your terms and that will steer those who are serious towards you.
My ad is pretty straightforward:
Bass guitarist looking for originals band. Open to most genres and styles. Plenty of experience live and in the studio.
Please, no busybodies who believe they are experts in all areas of life.

I've used JMB, Bandmix and even Gumtree over the years and more recently we got our guitarist thru placing a FB advert.
When i was younger i just wanted to play Prog Rock but thru the 80's the demand fell away and no-one wanted to watch that particular style so i adapted and played rock.
As i got older and after a few yrs away due to work commitments around 2010 i took on any band i could get into just to get some experience again. I was in everything from pop, blues, funk, celtic rock, originals rock, Deep Purple tribute, 70's covers, originals Prog, indie originals and finally ended up with my current Glam covers band and classic punk covers band.
My point being that if your music doesn't appeal to many then getting band members and subsequent gigs will be far more difficult and you may need to look further afield for gigs and even band members. What i would suggest is that as an interim measure until you can get the band and gigs you want then take on a different style of music that's a bit more popular to keep your hand in. Just a thought.
Think its probably an age gap there as when i was young i definitely wouldn't have played in some of the band styles i listed above and nothing but Prog was ever gonna do it for me but i do wish you all the very best and hope Santa brings you the musicians and gigs you are looking for.
Dave
For reference, I have no interest in playing technical blackened death metal on a Wednesday night at the Dog and Muck in Kidderminster. Most of the ads on JMB just seem to be that way.
EDIT: Also, I will never join a band just to play music. It has to be something/good enough that makes me want to attend rehearsal.

Jam nights are normally filled with singer/songwriters who want a backing band which is not something I'm interested in. That or has the blues/skiffle guitarists who can jam, for sure, but cannot learn songs, attend regular rehearsal, etc etc.
JMB is getting more and more difficult to find genuine musicians. The amount of messages that go unanswered, those who can't attend regular rehearsal, more interest in the name of the band than the actual music. Nobody wants to play technical blackened death metal on a Wednesday night at the Dog and Muck in Kidderminster. For free...

Why is putting a Fender decal on a bass a) so common and b) allowed in the first place?
Wearing a watch with a dial replacement to read 'Rolex' gets you laughed out the building.
Would be interested to know why players do it.

This is interesting, what specifically is the unique sound?
They sit right in between La Bella/GHS Precision flats and Chromes.

Damn, no Flea.

Using Dunlop Flats. Excellent flats that have their own unique sound.

I've heard the Boss Metal Zone with a Line 6 Spider is an awesome combination used by countless professionals.

Active basses.
They sound inherently scooped.

I've used Servisol and WD-40 on my basses - no issues with either.
