If you don't have a Fender, you're a nobody.
Jeez, is this the 60s?! 🤣

There are some people who appreciate good clothes and how they look in them, and others who have them simply to keep themselves warm in winter and stop them from being arrested for indecent exposure in the summer.
Musical instruments are the same. Some people like to obsess over their choice of musical gear and others simply want to make a noise in a band. Neither are right or wrong.
For full disclosure: I do own one item of Primark clothing; I needed a pair of conventionally smart dark coloured trousers that I will probably wear on a handful of occasions at the most. I could have bought something from one of my favourite designers or had a pair tailor-made, but on this occasion Primark at £10 fitted the bill perfectly.
Interesting point about clothing.
I believe some people do not understand that just because you can afford 'luxury' fashion, doesn't mean you should or will even look good in it.
Someone's clothes that fit them well will always look better than someone's clothes that do not - whatever the price tag is.

So after a brief brush with the maker and two stents at the age of 47, I've been told that basically I can't lift any thing ridiculous anymore so need to look at a lightweight cabs to replace my Warwick Hellborg Lo and High cabs.
I haven't got a clue what is out there so would be glad of the advice but am using a TC rh750 amp at present
Thanks
Dave
I would go the DI / IEM route. The less strain you put on your heart, the better.

I don't know about higher price indicating higher quality but I do know that a good set-up on any bass can make it feel like a million bucks.

At least .130 gauge for the B and a correctly cut nut will do wonders.

What's the problem ?
Your research would have revealed you had £83 VAT to pay, £11 UPS fee and 2% import duty.
Nothing to do with Thomann , it's collected in the UK.
I guess some people thought B***** would be just rainbows and lollipops...

I rated them back in the day - don't judge them off this performance.

anyone tried to buy a bike (pedal type) recently? They can be very hard to come by
I had no problem purchasing one in February. That's because all the 'plastic' cyclists will start to come out in Spring and snap everything up. 😂

Part of that maybe that the Bongo has a big name attached to it - albeit with the 6 string variant. That said, Bongos are nice basses and are enough of a departure from their other models to hold their own - IMHO.
I had a Bongo around ten years ago... why did I let it go?!

I bought a brand new Cutlass a couple years ago and it wasn't even properly shielded... I like MM basses but the QC in recent years has been a bit hit and miss for me.

If it were me, I would be looking at a 300w combo, ideally a 1x15 or a 2x10. That way, it covers both practice and gigs.
You will get far more value for your money secondhand.
If you must purchase new, this Ashdown combo would fit the bill:

Remember that the player touch is important too as well as his fingering...

Alter Bridge December 2019 at London O2. Good band but just didn't do it for me live. Similar to Foo Fighters - songs played perfectly but nothing dangerous about them at all.

I think the cryogenic treatment is a gimmick and doesn't really improve the longevity that much. Dean Markley strings sound pretty broken in from the start so if you're after that sort of tone, GHS Boomers or black label Dunlop nickels might be a good alternative.

La Bella Deep Talkin vs Low Tension
in Accessories and Misc
Posted
I'm a big fan of the La Bella low tension flats. Like TIs but with a slightly different tonal quality.
