I found somebody clearing up the confusion between the Roto Bass Nickels and the Swing Bass Nickels. And if I was looking for approval of the 66 Nickels, here it is:
"Rotobass and Roto 66 nickels are NOT the same ... I suspect several of the comments in this thread about Roto nickels being dull, muffled and indistinguishable from other cheap NPS strings must be about the cheaper Rotobass sets ... after a couple of weeks the Rotobass set will be muffled/dead and the Roto 66 nickels will still sound reasonably fresh ... The Roto 66 nickels are VERY different to Rotobass and MUCH better quality IMO. They have more uniquely voiced mids, somewhat more aggressive, edgy and metallic sounding than the Rotobass sets ... last considerably longer ... Very unique sounding, nothing else out there like them."
Which is complete BS.
Rotobass are Roto Swing 66 nickels without the silk. Exact same string otherwise.

If restrictions allow and Covid cases continue to fall, I will be cautiously but irreversibly, raising a bass onto my shoulder.

I can't even tell you how many plonkers on Gumtree don't understand 'Cash on collection - pickup only - no shipping'.

They're brighter, hence treblier, so bum notes will stand out more.
Give it time and they will lose a little brightness or just turn down your tone knob slightly.

Too many times have I had a bass player awkwardly shuffle up to me and ask to use my amp just before they go on.
I hand them a DI box and say, "Enjoy!".

Gave up on eBay years ago and moved to Gumtree. Plenty of tyre kickers still about though!

If you don't coordinate outfits then why bother with guitars?

This is why I always ask not to headline! 😄

Bargain price for anyone after some new DR strings:

I used to have that amp - you'll be surprised at how much grunt it has for its size. Lightweight too. I would try and get the seller down to 300.

Dave Navarro deserves more praise than he gets.

I've played a couple of Tribute JB-2s and they are fantastic instruments for the money. A P body with a J neck and two classic sounding J pups. Can't go wrong really.

Welcome to club Sandberg! I thought that too after getting my TM4 SL... extremely well built, plays like a dream and the tonal options are huge. Enjoy.

It has to be Tony Iommi for me. A guitarist so influential that his playing started a completely new genre of music and a sub genre (doom) which is pretty much defined by ripping off Iommi riffs.
You may disagree if you don't like metal.
Iommi for sure is a riff general... but then again, I always preferred Sabbath to Zeppelin!

My one and only bass right now is a Sandberg TM4 Super Light.
J and MM pickups so plenty of tonal options. Active and passive in case the battery dies mid set. Extremely light weight so no bad shoulder!
I always check my bass once over each month to make sure everything is tip-top so that way I never need to bring a back up. I haven't done so in nearly 20 years playing gigs.

Not at all!
Bigger gauge strings don't equal bigger tone has lots seem to think.
