You can only play one bass at a time. In nearly 20 years gigging, I've never needed a back up bass (or amp, or pedals).

Another one for the Chilis I'm afraid.
This time at Coventry Ricoh Arena in 2006.
First problem was that it was the Stadium Arcadium tour, in hindsight that was the point I lost interest in the band, so any set showcasing songs from that album was never going to be great for me.
Second problem was that the band just didn't seem into it at all. They were barely interacting with each other let alone connecting with the audience.
I think at that point in the tour John Frusciante had already decided to leave so I suspect relations within the band may have been somewhat strained.
The third issue was that I'd seen them on fantastic form at Slane Castle in Ireland a few years before, playing what was basically a greatest hits set, which just made the Cov gig seem even more disappointing by comparison.
I was at that gig and thought it was great!

Never seen RHCP live, but when I ever I see a live performance on YT they sound awful. Frusciante, as much as I love him as a guitarist, went through a phase of deliberately flipping gigs up.. I can imagine many have walked away disappointed from a fair few of their shows.
That was 30 years ago! Jeez.

Fan noise is a bit annoying but will be ok with a band. Great at low volume - good round bass - hoping at volume in the mix it’ll be similar - turned it up half way and it’s loud! It’s highlighted my bass has a bit of an earth issue
Are you sure it's not the tweeter?

Secondhand Mark Bass LMII or LMIII. Can you get a bad sound out of those things?

A couple points of interest. First Talkbass is still down. Second, my image of well-mannered Brits has been blasted to smithereens. But then again, I should have known better--home of the Sex Pistols and all. Also I detect a lot of passive aggressive energy in this thread. Is it to me or Americans in general? A simple 'go home Yankee" will suffice...
Well mannered Brits is complete rubbish...
I can't even remember the last time someone said 'Excuse me' whilst reaching in front of me to grab something off the shelf in a supermarket.
Also - squeezing through the smallest gap possible because you can't wait five seconds...

I only did home recording. SM57 1 meter away off the speaker, just off the centre cone. Amp was set loud. Great result
You could get a bus through there!

And don't send your DI post EQ. You ears are on stage, not in the audience. Let somebody else take care of that for you otherwise you could sound like a complete shower out there.
This this this!
One sound for stage, one sound for FOH.

You will not find a better built and sounding bass for the money. Period.

When I record, it's always mic on the cab, DI on the head/pedal and blend according to taste.

The black label pickups aren’t that radically different to the normal ones other than being a bit more aggressive maybe?
I have a TM4 SL with the Black Label pups - I would say pronounced is a better word.
