  1. What's religious punk?? Is that like Christian metal?
  2. Really getting into 1980's NME territory here! 🙂
  3. Some good pointers in this thread, thank you.
  4. @Doctor J Jasper Carrott is THE MAN and I don't care what anybody says!
  5. This comment has stayed in my head since I read it earlier. An interesting thing to say. Tell me more. Was it really that different? How? '83 was just a couple of years shy of my older brother blasting metal vinyl through the wall of his bedroom into mine, and so my fantastic musical taste had not yet been honed .. P.S. Up the Irons!
  6. @Frank Blank I never really got on with the Sugarcubes. Bjork's voice always sets me on edge abit. Am I still allowed to play?
  7. I can't tell you what a special place Cardiacs hold for me. Everything of theirs I have heard is just superb. When I was 16, I had Rude Bootleg on original cassette 😮 and the other album I had was On Land and In the Sea. Sing to God is also awesome. I think my cool factor peaked in 1989!
  8. Hate how boxes of chocolates always have salted caramel in them now. Another stupid phase I will be glad to see the back of.
  9. Moral of the story? You can't please all the people all of the time 😂
  10. I saw it in the supermarket and thought Wow! It appears to be a 50:50 blend but there was a large residue of oil on the top. Kind of like the two don't have similar compositions to mix properly. And it just tasted foul 😂
  11. I admit my heart skipped a beat initially. I adore Marmite and I love peanut butter. I thought it was a brilliant idea until I tasted it and then quickly realised it was the worst idea ever! 😂 Marmite doesn't mix with ANYTHING.
  12. You think that's bad? What about this blasphemy ...
  13. I do find not being banned from somewhere conducive to fitting in, so yes, you're probably right.
  14. @ProfJames I was going to post Love Like Blood in here a couple of days ago! Props for The Cult too 👍
  15. Nerd away to your heart's content. Thank you for your wholly correct answer to my somewhat rhetorical question. The answer, of course, is that Birmingham is definitely the home of metal and the reason for that is because it's the city I was born and raised in, and I'm so metal I am on the periodic table 😉
  16. I may start a new thread called "Is Birmingham the home of metal?" Poll options will be: Most Definitely! Yes but more home of rock than metal. Almost but could be any music really. Define metal, please.
