  1. You can cook, you can f--k, you can do the washing up ... Oh sorry.
  2. I watched a documentary ages ago about some kids in Scandinavia who were black metal fans. They'd committed a murder "in the name of Satan" and it was all about should metal be getting the blame. To be fair, they had been dipping their toes into the dark art by all accounts, probably for " a laugh". There was a clip from a Slayer show and they were playing that track, with a massive pit going on. The video froze every couple of milliseconds to display the song lyrics on the screen, and that's where I read the words for the first time. I suppose it was trying to show the glorification of violence.
  3. Some of my mates still wear corpse paint to gigs and we're all hitting 50 now. Keeping the dream alive eh πŸ˜†
  4. This I did not know. Brilliant. CoF has such a young demographic. And there it is - here kids, shock your parents! Dani Filth might have a voice that sets your teeth on edge but he's clearly got a brain too. Fair play to him $$$$
  5. Offensive metal lyrics is just art and theatre. Nothing more. Don't overthink it, it means nothing. It's just music. Slayer's Sex Murder Art is up there with the Cannibal Corpse stuff for offensiveness: "Take my fist and violate every orifice" Well! I thought you'd never ask 😍
  6. Beer 'n sex n' chips n' gravy! 😁 I love The Macc Lads, always have. But then again, I find Steven Lynch highly amusing so ...
  7. Plenty of mileage left in that joke, for sure 🀣 (Huge DE fan here also). I saw this comment yesterday on Facebook when Megadeth posted the results of their annual Christmas card competition...
  8. The Bush/Belladonna debate is a strong one and I get why people love Bush more. Saw him a couple of times on tour and can't fault the man. Belladonna will always have a place in my heart that can't be moved.
  9. Ha! I wear cowboy boots everyday still. Those buckle on chains for boots were sooo cool! Haven't seen them around for many years, sadly. We digress.
  10. It wasn't even the sound of nu metal that annoyed me the most - it was the LOOK. Yes, I am aware of the irony of that statement following on from 80's spandex.
  11. Not so much overrated (it was rubbish, obviously) but the arrival of grunge signalled many changes to metal as we knew it from the 80's. On top of that, weird things were happening ... Bruce Dickinson left Maiden, Vince Neil left Motley Crue, Joey Belladonna left Anthrax. On top of that, 90's metal sounds began emerging that took time to reconcile. I have never really got on with industrial as a result. I remember feeling like someone had pulled a carpet out from underneath my feet.
  12. It's about potentially making money off someone else's work. If you video yourself playing bass along to a song and post it on your Facebook, it will often mute the video after the first ten seconds or pop up a message that says "Are you SURE you want to post this, we know it's not yours?!".
  13. I think A Forest will be my next track to learn, cheers!
  14. I didn't find AC's comments offensive either. Nadine Shah's comment was just reactionary. In my opinion. Seems like a silly thing to get your knickers in a twist over ...
  15. This post took me to Google and Google took me back here to a thread from 2017 in which you were singing its praises once again 🀣 Unfortunately, it appears to be discontinued and seems hard to come by at a decent second hand price. It has pointed me in the direction of the EBS Metaldrive though which looks like it might have some potential ... possibly?
  16. Hello grunt. Thank you for efficiently packing my orders, your accuracy is appreciated. Can you tell me, there was something on social media a while back, about how Amazon floor employees get x amount of break time on their shift but it takes ten minutes walk to get off to the floor and to the breakroom. What was all that about then?
  17. Err well yeah good point. 😁
  18. This. I do not want to live in a world where there is one super retailer and no individuality on the high street.
  19. I boycotted Amazon this year too. No big anti-corporate reason, just they f__ked me over with a transaction, and decided my custom for the entire last decade wasn't enough to reimburse the small cost of their fault. I waited until my Prime expired a couple of months later and then stopped using them. I shop online ALOT. There are very very few things that I actually need to be delivered next day and I don't particularly miss watching trash on Prime in the evenings.
  20. I'd hazard a guess that your working knowledge of Wham's back catalogue is way more comprehensive than mine...
