  1. Andy, my blue 'ray from the sterling thread had a Seymour Duncan pick up in it, Alnico version if I remember correctly, did a good stingray job in my opinion If you need close up of my sterling, you are more than welcome Tony
  2. I'm currently after a P style bass with a J neck and the Cutlass' brother, the Caprice has my attention Guitar guitar were showing a cutlass at a good price from what I remember EDIT - looks like its sold now Tony
  3. Looks lighter on the bass than it did on the bus!
  4. The colour is very similar to a stingray I had a few years back It was an early one I bought, with mutes at the bridge, someone had tried a crap relic job on it, so it got stripped back and resprayed in nitro. I used some nitro I had left from a VW bus I had sprayed many years ago, colour was niagra blue. After seeing this I am very tempted to do it again with my current sterling I fee a lockdown project coming on I'll see if I can find a pic of the bass and the bus! T
  5. This proves what has always been in my head Have tried several basses that have a MM pick up and none of them nailed that sound, always thought it was p/up position over pre amp. I know it wasn't the p/up as I had a 'ray with a SD alnico in it and it sounded great So I have a sterling and that works for me T
  6. This is the classic sterling I mentioned in an earlier post, I think I would miss that 3 position switch!
  7. Not the best picture of the bass, but the sterling sounds great through this, small foot print, lightweight and a big sound the streamlined has since been replaced with a Genzler
  8. Really enjoy my sterling, plays great if I were to replace it, it would be with one of the classic sterling’s, saw a light blue one yesterday, damn! probably wouldn’t replace it, would just get a classic, it’s that good!
  9. Staying in on a Saturday Night because we got to bump!
  10. Resurrecting this old thread The caprice has been around for a while and I have serious GAS for one Anyone been using one for a while and have any comments to make? I already have a sterling, like this p/up and combination and the jazz style neck, the diamond blue is a great looking bass Or do I pull the trigger on another P/J bass? Cheers Tony
  11. lets try again!
  12. as in ..... ooops, image didn't save!

  17. Just bumping this up in case there is somebody with a Caprice (not sunburst) who may want to trade Alternative would be a jazz with cash my way that would pay for a caprice when one comes up, eg £1250 Tony
  18. its a very nice bass type of bump!
  19. Had mine for a while, it's probably the third one I've had, had Stingrays in between Great basses, nice slim neck, lots of tones to play with, especially when matched with a amp such as a Genzler! I paid about £600 for mine, it's had a few knocks, but has the best neck and is lovely to play Tony
  20. I found that, it may have gone to JTUK, I messaged him, but he's not been on here for a while Tony
