Really liking the caprice, not owned a sunburst bass for a long time, preferred solid colours but i’m good with this one Still waiting on the next one, courier isn’t playing ball!

I like this bass, hence the effort, it’s a bit on the heavy side, might shed a few ounces after the refin’ i just got a caprice this week, I’m getting on very well with it! The sterling, the caprice and a jazz covers just about everything for me Tony

Good morning! Some some bass trading this week, felt like a change, one out, two in, not done that for a long time, forgot what NBD feels like! Musicman caprice has arrived and It’s a great bass, got a jazz arriving which should be back end of the week! My trusty MM sterling is still with me, was a relatively cheap purchase a few years back, it dates from 1998 and has a few knocks, is also a bit of a heavy weight! So I’m thinking of doing a refinish job on it! I did a stingray a few years back, I bought that bass from “The Greek” I believe it was a previous owner who had attempted A “relic” job on it? So it got stripped and respirated. It was done in nitro, using some paint I had left over from a 1971 VW camper van that I was restoring! Colour is niagra blue (L53D is code for anyone who is interested!) Turned our really nice with a tort’ pickgaurd fitted! Photos of the bus and bass below! I did see classic sterling in a very similar colour, but not sure what name MM give it So, when the jazz arrives at the end of week, I’m going to strip it down and then it’s out with heat gun and scraper to remove the poly! Took me long enough to find this one! Just put a set of round wounds on it and removed the plastic film from the pick guard (yes, the previous owner hadn’t removed it!) Not had a P bass for a long time, that sound with round wounds, damn! Tony

Dilemma - flat or round wound Day off work to play!

First one arrived today! Really liking this, sounds great, neck is sweet! came with flats on, I have a set of roundwounds ready to go, was going to swap them tonight, but it sounds good as is! When did musicman change the saddles so that you can only adjust so far down? The old saddles allowed the screw to protrude out of the top of the saddle!

I saw a used groove regulator, I assume it came before the GR2? much difference? was thinking about the intelligent filter, now C4 has my attention Tony

New Bass Week!! It’s been a busy week! sold one and bought two feeling happy, won’t see them until next week though! Tony

3 leaf audio filters, whats the difference between the groove regulator and wonderlove I know there was an earlier wonderlove and then the mk2, which I had and didn't really get on with? I know the mk2 added expression pedal control Is it just evolution of this filter by 3 leaf? And three versions of the Proton! Just curious Thanks Tony
