I have a JMJ and a Lionel, the Lionel is approx 15mm shorter than the Mustang and body is similar dimensions 

Same here @thisisswanbon been using a Line 6 PodGo Wireless and like you just want some analogue simplicity, the EBS sounded good at practice, time will tell ….

I've recently started using an EBS Microbass 3 and so far it's very good, clean and drive channels very tweakable but also not over complicated

certainly worth a look at the reviews on YouTube etc

Do you guys channel scan each gig ?

I always channel scan at every gig, all venues are different so definitely good practice to do it

Depends how tight your pants are and how active you are on stage I guess!

the revised model has a different redesigned rubber cover, still doesn't look much better though, hopefully a tighter fit

I used Designacable, they have the correct ones in stock, straight, angled, silent, any length, colour etc locking or screw etc

I use Levys pack holder too but find it a bit of a loose fit, if you jump up and down it could fall out ... not sure how anyone else's fits?

I'd not condone putting it in the back pocket as the cable and ariel could be vulnerable

You DO NEED a JMJ, certainly not herd behavior, they are truly excellent basses as everyone will concur ! 

I've been using the Shure GLXD for the last month or so and have not had a single issue, no drop outs at all playing large festival stages and theatres with lots of moving around from one side to the other etc. I previously used the Line 6 Relay G70 which did suffer the occasional drop out which is frustrating. To agree with @walshy its a solid well built bit of kit, no drop outs (so far) and for my use, well worth the money in my opinion.

Try no to overthink it, some people will like what you do and some probably won't, you can't please everyone.

Always take 2 basses 

I’ll occasionally swap after first set but usually it’s just a spare, then alternate them between shows.

Not had a bass fail on me or break a string, just couldn’t take the chance when playing theatres or festivals … I’d be gutted even down the local pub if I didn’t have a back up!!

Hmmm not sure what brand but they are definitely 45-105 Think you have to accept that you’ll lose some definition but with some EQing it can be controlled to a reasonable degree. 
 

All you can do is give it a shot and see if you like it !

If anyone is pondering fitting a Hipshot Xtender to their JMJ Mustang the BT7 is a direct replacement and the lollipop is easily swapped over too. Took 10 mins and works a treat. They do a lolly version now but it’s shiny 

It handles the D drop really well, Infact my band tune a half step down and the drop to C# still sounds great and is very stable …

@FrostybassI'd echo whats been said above, a used Sandberg Lionel would be the top of my list, closely followed by a JMJ Mustang and if you like the Stingray sound then a Sterling Stingray SS .... Are you anywhere near Glasgow, then have a try of Merchant City in Glasgow maybe

Why on earth MT can’t just send the parts directly to me I don’t understand.

So far it’s taken me 6 months. I paid the invoice for the spares on 28th February and am still waiting for Ampman to get the parts in.

Totally ridiculous scenario for such a simple fix.

Exactly the same scenario for me, contacted Ampman and was given a quote for about £60 to get the knobs, sooooooo I politely declined their kind offer

The very helpful fella from TC and his colleagues in Denmark even drew a blank which was amazing
