  1. Has anyone bought a JPTR pedal recently?

I’ve recently ordered a Deluxe Jive 10th Anniversary Edition handed over my £

dosh and to be honest didn’t realise it was a pre order and by the looks of it could take a ‘while’

I’d have thought the best scenario as a business would be for them to make a batch then sell them, can’t get a reply out of them with a guesstimate on delivery timescale.

Anyhoo I’m sure it will be worth the wait however long that might be

  2. If anyone was thinking of fitting a Hipshot Xtender onto their Sandberg Lionel you need a BT7 which is the closest match as advised by Sandberg

Only slight drawbacks are the ferrule hole needs enlarging very slightly and you need to drill 4 small holes. Other than that easy fit and works great!!

  3. Not flashed off my pair of Lionels together. The blue one I added a clear scratchplate so you can see more of that gorgeous finish and an EMG Geezer Butler, I found the stock a bit sterile and was lacking something, the GZR is spot on, so much so that I took the 2 band active out of the cream Larry and put an Ivory GRZ It just wasn’t sitting the mix and felt a bit lost but the EMG punches thru nicely. The third knob is just a dummy … I’ve got an EBMM Stingray Short Scale in Starry Night, it looks the nutz but just doesn’t beat the Lionel Bergs!!

In the interim, try and pick up an alder bodied Lionel they come in at 7.5lbs (I’ve had my hands on 4 and they’ve all been about that weight). The gloss finished and aged models are alder. The satin finished with visible grain are ash and about a pound heavier.

Totally agree with Mart, I have a alder body from their Greenline range at 7.5lbs and it’s noticeably lighter than my ash body

Is that an actual Sandberg one or another make?

It’s a Hipshot BT7 on the Ida bass

Sandberg told me to install a D tuner it requires drilling extra holes. The BT7 resembles our design the closest

Bass Direct said Sandberg tuners are a specific size and Hipshot don't offer a direct replacement. The Ida Nielsen bass from Sandberg uses an extender and its a BT7

  7. Fender JMJ Mustang Bass I’m not sure it needs any introduction, these basses are legendary in bass playing circles

I don’t think it’s taken on any additional relics, resonant and plays like a workhorse bass !

  8. Selling my lovely Mikey Way Mustang in immaculate condition don’t think there is a mark on it, no neck pocket cracks, no dings, nowt!

It’s fitted with an EMG 35HZ pickup, no modifications were necessary and now has a great pickup and new large pots and wiring, all of the original little pots, pickup and knobs will come with it so could easily be returned to stock (but why the heck would you!!)

It now sounds great, the humbucker is now clear and punchy compared to the very wooly original.

Even unplugged the bass is resonant and plays really nicely

It is now a very usable and gigable bass and looks as cool as fcuk !! The large sparkle is drop dead gorgeous especially under lights

  9. The Performer is a great well made quality bass and plays very well although the addition of the Jazz pup gives a bit more tonal flexibility just looks odd as I added a solid Jazz pup cover and in my opinion works better aesthetically … cracking bit of kit but sort of do agree it’s a bit polite …

  10. I’m just keeping it simple, Two Notes Le Bass (back up if my amp pops or fancy a bit more grunt) TC Corona Chorus Mini (when I need to get my Duff on) Shure GLXD16+ (best wireless I’ve owned, not a single drop out ever even on large stages) all powered by a Truetone 1 Spot CS6 ….
