  1. Really pleased with mine too, it’s superb quality, I do totally get people held back by the cost, I sold two basses to cover it! The feel, the smell and colour did it for me, can’t resist a sparkly finish !!
  2. The fit, finish and feel is superb with a neck to die for. Roasted maple feels silky smooth, finished to perfection and smells great too if you like BBQ’s !!! Punchy, articulate with a decent range of tones from the passive pickup, still Stingray though! Starry Night finish looks amazing, the hardware is excellent. All round great bass, is it worth 3x a Sterling SS Ray ... I’m not sure Surely there’s a couple of people taken the plunge on one!!?? @TK4261 @4000
  3. Deal with confidence, Jarek is a great guy, quick, regular communication. He bought my Washburn bass, paid promptly by Paypal fiends & Family so no fees, he arranged a courier. All I had to do was pack the bass up in a bomb proof box to ship to Belgium. Five star transaction!
  4. I have an active 2 EQ Warwick Corvette 30" Short Scale, lovely bass, not seen many around
  5. The stigma is well and truly still there with every reviewer using the words, fun, small, diminutive, makes me smile, for guitarists and drummers or little people with small hands .... all that aside, I love short scales, I have three and I have a small hand so I'll fit in just fine lol !!
  6. Washburn B80 Chicago Series made in the late 80’s and retailing at well over a grand then! In a really lovely pearlescent white that has turned a nice cream, thru neck maple body, ebony fingerboard. Locking bridge, Very clean condition for a 30 year old bass Couple of small dings shown in the photos Made in the Kasuga factory in Japan It features their Stephen’s Extended Cutaway to give easy access to the upper dusty end and look and feels soooooo nice. Active 2 Band EQ / Blend / Volume £400 Collection / have a go in Oakham LE15 6QA
  7. How about a Washburn Chicago B-80 !?
  8. I wouldn't touch it, looks amazing, its your history ... bit like having a face lift, could go either way
  9. Fender American Performer Mustang Short Scale Bass in Aubergine Red In 9.9 condition virtually immaculate can’t find a mark on it ! Made in USA / 30” scale / Rosewood fingerboard / comes with Fender short scale gig bag / case candy tags etc / Jazz Pick Up cover changed for solid, the original will be supplied and easily refitted although I think the solid looks much better! Versatile, punchy and articulate is the best way to describe it, fit, finish and hardware is excellent Collection from Oakham, Rutland LE15 6QA Will post at buyers expense with the neck removed and packaged like a tank or meet within a reasonable distance for dodgy distanced car park dealings !!
  10. @ClarkyHow you getting on with The Grand, played in 'anger' yet or just in your bedroom so far?
  11. Deal with Frank with absolute confidence, great communication and beyond generous. Do not hesitate to deal with him be it in person or postage. He is as others have confirmed, a Basschat legend of the highest degree \m/
  12. I have the same issue, would love a EBMM Shorty 'Ray but the Sterling is so appealing at that price, reading the reviews and comments here and on TalkBass they are raving about them !!
  13. Well here's my current stash of short scales from top to bottom ... all superb in different ways Fender Justin Meldal-Johnsen Mustang - superb straight forward solid rock bass, feels lived in / Warwick SS Corvette - useful 2 band active, punchy and articulate, skinny neck / Fender USA Performer Mustang - polite with a good range of tones, the J pup is very usable and adds a lot of definition, lovely to play ... I want to try a Stingray Shorty now!
  14. More that happy with the funny and serious comments as well as the advise, shame Ashdown @Ashdown Engineering seem to think its acceptable and I'm not sure they have taken it as seriously as we'd have expected ...
  15. Aaah haaa well let's hope they don't send anyone a fur cup ... Ooh dear Not sure what I expected from @Ashdown Engineering but disappointment is about right, I thought they might want to have them back to examine? But then they probably don't want to touch the filth they sent me either !
  16. Feel a bit brushed off, makes me spew just thinking about it I was told they had none left !!?? I guess it could be, who pops an animal tooth in ffs !!
  17. https://ashdownmusic.com/products/m-ears-red?_pos=2&_sid=b19bc97a3&_ss=r Sold as new ... although sold out now
  18. I'll take the Sossies and Jam any day ... I'm still not sure they actually 'got' how hideous it actually was to find bodily discharge and animal parts in a pack they sold as new, that any one had even remotely checked the obviously returned broken / unwanted product. I've not touched them any further for hygiene reasons ... @ashdown @Ashdown Engineering care to comment?
  19. They said sorry, gave refund and offered 15% discount off another set ... I'm not so keen or bothered now ... maybe they thought I'd made it up and was trying it on .... Yeah I made up a dog (maybe cat) tooth ffs, like you do !!!
  20. Maybe a tad extreme but I agree my skin was crawling for hours after it, whilst apologetic they didn't really grasp how vile it actually was to receive and handle another persons discharge / animals parts especially with the current pandemic climate ... I love what Ashdown / Meters do but someone took their foot right off the pedal on this occasion
  21. I've not mentioned names but the brand is a lot closer to home than you think unfortunately! I get selling returns is usually OK as long as they are checked and as good as new ...
