  1. Agreed, Paul @walshy bought a Modulus Flea from me a while back, sold it on and had the extraordinary decency to not only tell me he was going to do so but to send me, in cash, the difference. Walshy also plays a very act role in the community and has on many occasions helped me and other out with purchases etc, in fact he was only last week hunting down a very specific instrument for me, you'll never guess what......... There's a few others on here I won't name who do not work that way sadly I was tempted a while back to start a thread listing basses sold on BC that are a) now for sale at an inflated price and b) not for sale on BC, the main issue for me being less the inflated price-tag but the fact that the new owner is often trying to hide the mark-up by not selling it on BC and thereby opening themselves up to comment in the thread. I thought better of it as I imagine it would have been locked within days, but as Lawrie @Burns-bass says above, all that happens in price inflation which does no-one but the dealers any favours. Still, it would have been fun to point out some of the bullshit, the 'my trusty old Precision' bollocks about an instrument they've owned for less than a week and possibly never even played
  2. Both would require a pretty loose definition of disco 😆
  3. Agreed Lawrie, although you might be surprised just how many members here are systematically doing exactly the same, buy on here then sell elsewhere immediately and at a significantly inflated price. I don’t have a problem with people who are openly dealing, but I find myself feeling less than charitable towards those pretending not to be 👍
  4. It could have been a lot worse for sure 👍
  5. Need to see it without pickguard really?
  6. 6/8 is pushing it, 12/8 perhaps.....?

    FCS P-bass

Good to see FCS doing something different
  8. I’m pretty sure we’ll see it listed again soon, either by the same seller as the result of the buyer backing out or a new seller with a £8,000 price tag 👍
  9. Lots of threads on this, Thomann are good, DHL aren’t, but AFAIA they all get resolved without hassle
  10. Absolutely Steve, if OP had been happy to courier it would already be sitting at my place 🙂
  11. I’d still like go see the front PUP rout….
  12. That made me very happy 👍
  13. Might be a modified Fender body of course?
  14. No, it's rounded like some of the Jap basses of the 70's/80's. Never seen a Fender with those?
  15. Photos aren't great but the screwheads suggest that neck's been on and off the bass a few times, which could mean anything of course, but provides little reason for him to argue that removing the neck to prove the date stamp could damage the original screws/threads etc (the excuse I was given a few years back). Anyway, it's all a shot in the dark on the evidence provided. He doesn't seem keen to give any more details than he has or book inspections (he added extra information to the thread that simply repeated the previous details). He might not really know himself if it's truly a '62, would be the first guy to won and play an instrument for years only to find they were sold a ringer in 1978. Either way, I get the sense he's trying to keep people interested - and potentially start an eBay bidding war - without any bidders actually knowing what they're bidding on? There's a bid of £2800 on it at present which is perhaps a nice final price if it's a real - albeit far from original - '62, but a hell of a lot of cash for fugazi. Interested to see how this one pans out 🤫
  16. Mighty Mite necks are a whole lot better proportioned that that fugly thing, that looks like one of the rather cheap (£30) items that are sold from China via eBay. I've got one (not on purpose), it's not a bad neck for £30, but it has that same rather plump headstock
  17. Anyone else see Scooby Doo 😆
  18. Not on a Precision 👍
  19. Top of headstock is also oversized
  20. I had a few bows on trial a while back and despite playing bows that retailed at over £1500 preferred one at a quarter of that price, or at least couldn't hear or feel a difference between the two that would warrant my paying four times more than I did
  21. ‘Small’… 🤔
  22. A better account ..... I will be posting some pics of some big boxes by Mesa among others tomorrow
  23. indeed
