There's no rules, many players use that configuration, you won't know if it works for and your instrument you until you try, but there's no substantial reason why it shouldn't 👍

Second hand DB strings, yep, I've bought used strings on here many times, there's a degree of risk involved - for example one was fine until I installed it and it started to unravel - but the seller couldn't have predicted that and none of the guys here are not going to sell you anything dodgy. You just have to be patient and keep your eyes open 👍

I've owned basses in worse condition, but those strings..... The Fender rosewood necks have had a mixed reception with much talk of movement/instability and sharp/protruding frets, which is a shame because they look bloody lovely

Having said that I do have a new/unused Lenzner silver wound E string here somewhere.....

I lost a claim with eBay when I sold a fully functional DigiDesign interface and had it returned as faulty, the return being demonstrably a different unit in terms of serial number and condition from that in the photos in my listing. But when I pointed this out to eBay.......... The buyer claimed that I had in fact not sent him the item in the photos and that I was scamming him 😡 I realised I wasn't going to win if someone's prepared to be that devious and gave up. Ebay were not interested at al, they algorithms had made up its mind. As someone said above, careful who you sell to

This ^ I play music because of how it makes me feel and no amount of AI will change that. to me and to many people music is what is was way before tech, an emotional, social, and spiritual internal and external communication process. When we look at music as a product AI will change many things, but so did the advent of audio recording, the advent of electric and electronic music, and the advent of digital, all of which were talked of as gamechangers (both positive and negative) at the time. And just as previous generations found, new ways of being creative with the new tech will open up new opportunities for some and close doors for others

Yep, G&L suffer a little from the same syndrome I suspect, we respect their quality, but would prefer not to have to own one 🤔

For me, the models I notice look a bit derivative and cheap, but tend to be quite expensive, for example (first one I came across)..... It's a competitive market, Fender have most of it sewn up, and there are players such as Sire coming in with some very high quality and low cost instruments.

I’m currently putting together a Precision with a Dimarzio DP145 (with series/parallel switching), and I’m rather excited 👍

‘72 Tele is a tone to die for in the right setting , not versatile, but what it does it pretty special
