5. Hi guys. I dunno how much people will really care, but on katebush.com there's a track from her forthcoming album. There's some interesting bass in the middle - kind of a fretless, chorusy throw-back - even some chords and harmonics thrown in for good measure! This is in fact, a re-mastered/interpretation/mix of an old track (I've just discovered this mid-type). John Giblin on Bass probably. ANYWAY, maybe some of you will find this helpful/interesting/funny!? Peace.
6. Cheers for the prompt responses everyone - kinda after something with rock 'authority' if you know what I mean. Balls and a foundation for everything else to go off mental around me. As always, money is the killer. Anyways, if I was still doing my jazz gigs I'm sure this'd be lovely. Good luck with the sale.
7. Any pictures of the cab you're selling? What are they like? Heavyweight? Good for rock or jazz? I have no idea with bag-end but it seems like a good price?? Cheers.
8. Looks great - great price. Great amp. Wish I could take this off your hands... Not at this moment though.
9. This will be sold super quick... (not to me though - funds)
10. Just to clarify - the VT Bass is NOT for sale individually. But is the Amp?? If someone buys the amp I'm sure you'd sell the rest individually, right? Nice looking tube amp... In the market for one at the mo.
11. So are you getting this with your endorsement deal? Any chance you could shed some light on the details of that endorsement? I'd love some information on that. Could get my management on the case (NEED new amp, LOVE Orange, deal would help...) Don't worry if you'd rather not talk about your business, but great if you do... Cheers, Scott.
12. Money money money... Love to take this off your hands, but, simply put, I can't. Misery.
13. So where are these pics of the 'Blacksmith' TC amp? Any other info?? Just wondering...
14. Not that this helps you to sell it, but I bet the pictured rig sounded amazing!? Orange sat on top of a 2x15... Shame your gig requirements have shifted. Good luck. (No money to spend on live rig at the mo... Shame.)
15. Might see you in Bristol? I'm thinking of getting an Orange Rig at some point... Be worth checking it out Live to see how it sounds etc. Would have just finished recording a new album at Real World Studios so I'm gonna need a half-decent/bloody great live rig if tours eventually surface.
16. This Summit Audio stuff looks so lovely and tempting... One day. (Maybe that day is tomorrow!?)
17. Brilliant feedback guys. Really helpful. I think I'm definitely going to pursue one of these. I was just concerned that it was all about one thing (the overdrive) but of course, it appears that it is quite versatile from people's comments. (As for how many 'watts clean', and loud vs LOUD, I'm sure it'll keep up!?) As for the weight - by day I'm a landscaper - I lift heavy, HEAVY things all day everyday. The new standard of heavy is dis-used railway sleepers. I've done two gardens with them being incorporated recently, and I'm sure an AD200 won't compete. I think I will hunt one of these down. (By the way, I can't seem to get to the Matamp GT200 (Bass amp) page on their website - how do these compare? I know the story behind Matamp/Orange, but do they compare in tone/price etc?)
18. Cheers for the input guys - it appears that there isn't a straight forward answer - except maybe "it'll do 200watts clean"!? It'd be nice for some owners to chip in. I don't want super 'digital' clean, I want tubeyness, but just not 'Overdrive'. 'A bit of dirt, but not too much else.' Anyway, cheers for the input, but please, keep it coming...
19. Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how much clean headroom/volume you can get with this? I'm after a bit of warmth in my tone - valve warmth - but not really overdrive. The quality of this amp's Overdrive seems to get mentioned a lot, and obviously it's a natural bi-product of 'driving' the amp, but can you still get to a nice gigging volume (my definition being - You're on a stage, good few feet from the amp, and you can 'feel' it, not just hear it [with DI's and monitoring etc, you don't have to be super loud, but nobody can deny it is nice to feel the low end]) without the real overdriven tone coming in? I hope I'm being clear!? I played through one in a shop recently whilst trying out some basses, but I've come away with the amp in my noggin far more than any of the basses. Any thoughts would be great. Cheers. (ps - anyone know of any shops stocking a decent range of Orange bass gear near Bath?)
20. It's about £300 more than I was hoping to spend, but let's just say that you have my attention... Scott
21. Hi! Fairly new to basschat.co.uk. Just shooting from the hip - "I'm quite interested!" Maybe more pictures would be great? Will be in touch after checking a few things over. Scott X
