1. That Grabber smokes. And thats an amazing looking dog.
2. Surely your guitar playing friend could just buy some lower gauge strings and use what he has? or an Octave pedal? Seems an excessive and expensive way to go.
3. My boss PS3 kinda makes some noises like that with inverted mode, but not as mechanical.
4. Nah, mine is no where near that kinda weight. Id say more like 25/30kg. Its heavy but certainly manageable (but all lop sided as mentioned)
5. Alien 3 - Elliot Goldenthal Zidane - Mogwai
6. Recently bought a Boss PS-3 from Rob. Had absolutely no problems whatsoever and kept in touch throughout. The pedals great, and Id thoroughly recommend dealing with Rob.
7.
Don't ask silly questions mate
Hey Chris, I hope the G3 is working out for you. Its been a long time since we caught up. I would honestly love to go for this, ive always loved the look and sound, especially after seeing alex from Manatees rocking one battered grabber, but im really trying to save at the moment. Bollocks. If things change then ill be sure to enquire.
8. Save for holiday or Grabber? Decisions. Have a bump.
9. Yeah, quite turned on by the ring modulator though I have heard it can 'bleed' even when its not engaged. Id go for a barge concepts loop for that, I think id really get on with the feedback setting. Im struggling to really name anything I want. I guess my basses are covered with what I have, though I imagine a violent synth/fuzz and a few filters might be a nice addition. Im not big on things like chorus or flanger so less 80's and more other worldly. Guess that (doesn't) narrow things down.
10. Yeah, I know, its not the most colourful of boards, literally or sonically. But I like quite a visually austere set up. I suppose i'm more into loops, gain and drive than modulation and filters so Ive tried to keep my board to a minimum and keep it clutter free. I have a few other pedals Id like to look into, maybe a moog, tonefactor or line6 modulator, but maybe another time. Any recommendations are welcome.
11. Im not sure if itll be your cup of tea, but if you have 'Around the fur' by the Deftones, the bass players runs his set up there through one of these. Best on ear phones but it isnt silly loud, and sits just right in the mix.
12. Gonna be finding out in a week or so myself.
13. Here's mine. Doubles as my guitar board. Not very exciting compared to some on here.
14. Bought a year or two back but I dont think ill get round to using them, maybe of some use to someone else? The box is a little battered but otherwise as you would expet from unused strings. £10 inc p&p?
15. Still, worth a try if he decides to 'lighten' his collections. Anyways, have fun whilst you still have it.
16. Lovely pedal. One of the best Boss have made IMO, though its not an immediately practical pedal. I guess you really just need to give it some time and try and pry out the tones and sounds youre interested in. Though I have to mention, I would love to buy it if it goes for sale. Seriously.
17. Balls. I would be killed if I pulled the trigger on this.
18.
I get the feeling V&R is for utterly, utterly minted people who just want to go and buy a guitar, not giving a toss about what it costs... It must be nice. *sigh*
Last time I was in there, some 'suit' walked in, pointed at a les paul custom and paid about £1400.00 without flinching. It was for his kid!!!!!!
