2. Pete Hartley is a bit of an electronics savant. He has been around for time. His notoriety is larger than Sheffield and I've NEVER heard a bad word said by anyone about his ability. He mods Marshalls and makes them better.... I could go on.
3.
Cheers for the replies chaps..... very helpful! Anyone else before I jump in....
Well I duno how well this would work but if you go to hobby shops they sell an adhesive backed metal foil which is *very thin* compared to actual baco-foil. It's fairly cheap for a single sheet. It comes in various metalic finishes like brass, gold, bronze, silver, chrome... Might be worth a try. They also do a silver paint in a tube (Like toothpaste) which you apply with a cloth. This I *have* tried on black plastic, but because it's oil based it takes a long time to dry, but the result is VERY good and VERY metallic. Also the finish is very even... and wont wear like spray paint might, as it seems to put a permanent layer on the surface. Let me know if you decide to give it a whirl, and how you get on.... P.S. I just did a search to try to find it, and came up with this... NOT what I had in mind, but MIGHT be worth a punt. 12.
Just spotted this guy selling some items. The Gforce is an amazing effects unit. I have had mine YEARS and it still blows the competition away! As for powersoft amps.. louder, more powerful and lighter than the competition ;o) http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZstereonline
+1 on the Powersoft. Can't go wrong. MASSIVE, yet light and small, amps!

17. only last week I lost out on a *done deal* because the owner decided he had underpriced the bass. I think this kind of thing is par for the course on a *friendly* forum. You just have to let it go. Or make a higher offer.. CORRECTION: The seller didn't sell at the expected higher price so I picked up a '96 NT 5 thumb for £750. Pleased as punch! Right now is a REALLY bad time for selling Warwicks I'm afraid to say (well, no, I'm pleased as a buyer)
18. now that's one sexy momma. PM'd

20. I had a Jazz, and a Precision at the same time for about 4 years back in the early eighties. the 'P' was Black with black scratch plate, (so fecking cool for rock) ...where the 'J' was 'blonde' and pretty, erm, ...vanilla. However my P remained pretty much in the case that whole time. 'Nuff said!
21. But that's kind of the point yeah? It looks tidy, admittedly. But is it any better (play/feel/sound) than any other reasonably priced copy? The 'looks' might be why people are being swept along. (?) I mean, it looks like a whole lot more bass than a tight budget might afford. Maybe that's enough for some people, but I think bassman is questioning everything but the looks. I gotta say Neil that looks tasty! And, since I've not tried one, maybe it sounds ok? I dunno... Andy
22. I don't mind stumping up for basses... but £6000 is beyond the envelope. And that's not it's real cost. I reckon you're buying the brand/name rather than that much value. Do they *really* cost that much more to make than other basses? I can't see it myself. Way overpriced IMHO. Andy
23. Don't forget I'm still in the wings if you don't work any alternatives out...
