1. Hi Pukie, until 2006 or so the YinYangs were built with the 2-Bd preamp. The newborn gallery was invented around 2009 when Jason de Salvo became a partner there. All newborns before are listed only if they were returned to Fodera and sold as Certified Preowned since then. You can ask Fodera for confirmation. Hope that helps. Thanks Pierre :-)
2. Trade in the works. Currently reserved.
3. Hi swanbrook - sorry, Dingwalls are not on my GAS list these days. Thanks to all for the kind comments :-)
4. Thanks merlello :-) I advertisd this bass two times here because I could not find this ad with the search engine at first. Typing "Lakland" into the search field doesn't find this ... hm... What's wrong here ?
5. Doubled post - deleted ... Sorry.
6. SOLD ! Very rare Don Grosh Jazz Bass J5-21 Bent Top. Spec: Ash body Quilted Maple top One piece Maple neck 34" - 21 frets Body high gloss Nitro finish ! Neck satin finish Neck width nut 47mm, 12th fret 69mm String spacing bridge 19mm Pickups DiMarzio Ultra Jazz Humbucker Aguilar OBP-1 preamp (Vol/Vol/Tone w. push-pull active-passive/Stacked Bass-Treble) Hipshot hardware Schaller straplocks Weight 4,4 kg Built in 2002 This bass has been played and shows some dings - mainly around the output jack. But otherwise it is in top condition, nearly zero fret wear, neck is perfectly set up and has no damage - feels great. The deep blue transparent Nitro finish has been slightly faded to a more greenish blue. For me it looks nice as it is. The sound is obviously based on the 70s originals, but with much more flexibility. Especially the B string provides a fully integrated deep and clear low end which I have heard on few basses only, especially JB5 clones. This is called Bent Top model because the Quilted Maple Top has not only been glued onto a plain body plank but has been bent over the already shaped contour instead. Exactly this bass - not only the model - has been reviewed in the German magazine "Gitarre&Bass" issue 07-2003 and has got enthusiastic comments from the author. Don Grosh is a well known luthier among US guitarists - especially for his excellent vintage reissue expertise - and builds about 10-15 basses in batches once in blue moon... SOLD !
7. Lakland 55-94 Claro Walnut Selling this wonderful US Lakland in MINT condition. The bass had been recently purchased at basscentral and is like new, nearly unplayed. I got it as part of a bigger trade and would like to offer it here before I try to become familiar with it. Just prefer 34" basses most of the time. Specs: Claro Walnut Top Swamp Ash Body Birdseye Maple Neck, 35" 19mm spacing (bridge) 4,1 kg (!) Lakland MM-J Pickup Configuration Lakland LH3 Preamp Original Case Very lightweight and lowest action possible - a joy to play. The B string is fully on par with the other strings. The back of the neck feels smooth and worn-in due to the satin finish, very nice - close to a vintage 60s Fender feeling (... but not the same, lol). The well-known and unique Lakland electronics provide a bunch of world-class sounds. The 3-position switch for the bridge pickup alone allows for the quick and simple selection of 3 completely different sounds without engaging the EQ. The original Lakland case is like new as well, but during its world-wide trip it has got some minor blemishes on the edges and the neck fixing poly foam inside the case has been pressed a bit. Not a big deal but I wanted to mention it here. SOLD - pending payment ...
8. Bass is still available. I updated the original post: - Birth year is 2009, not 2011 (the older the better !) - Case is a G&L, not SKB - Strung with DR Fat Beams now - incredible funky ! I won't reduce the price anymore. If it wont go for the asked price I will keep it !
9. The GBP reached a new peak since one year. Good times for UK cash buyers - so think about an offer before it goes down again...
10. Traded !! Second cance to get this beautiful Fodera Anthony Jackson Presentation model 6 string bass - it was offered last year by Nick - another fellow BC'er. I recently got it in a trade from him after a long long discussion about options. Nick was very supportive and we finally agreed on a deal in December. I picked it up in London and I was so happy to get this amazing bass in my hands. In fact I was floored when I opened the case and touched it for the first time. This moment was a peak in my GAS experience in the last years. And some of you know how much amazing basses I own and owned... However, after a few weeks playing I have to say that I would have to spend A LOT of time and effort to get familiar with it - if it will work at all. It has a lovely tone and super low action, but this bass is HUGE in all dimensions - scale, length, depth, weight, tone. And it does not forgive any lousy playing. A challenge for any ambitious and talented 6-string bass player. To be honest it seems that I overestimated my ressources to manage this masterpiece with its strengths. It certainly shows my limits. Fact. So I decided to offer it here again - now also for trading. I am sure there are masters out there who would get it under control and would then benefit from it's wonderful sounds. It is in MINT condition - besides the very minor dings mentioned and shown by Nick in his post. The neck is flat and allows fast runs. The sound is quite open, yet organic in the treble, even along all registers down to a deep low end, always with a subtle "wooden" flavour. Here are the specs again: Presentation Grade Flamed Redwood top, Carved Swamp Ash Body, Chambered 5-pc Neck with pin stripe Purpleheart Stringers Madagascar Kingwood Board, no board markers, 28 frets 36" scale Gold Hardware One Seymour Duncan Dual Coil Pickup No Preamp ! Built 2001 Original teardrop hardcase included.
11. Traded my Custom Shop Jazz Bass against Gregas Alleva. Grega was helpful and the whole deal went through smooth and easy. I am fully satisfied. Highly recommended seller :-) Thanks.
