In answer to gaffbass, I have a petersen strobe tuner, which i use at home, and it is super accurate, but to be honest, too accurate for stage use, it is a super fine tuner, I use it for setting up intonation on my basses at home, and nothing is better. For stage use i use the planet waves pedal tuner, brilliant, dead simple to use and effective, basically checking my tuning every third or so song. or after a particularly energetic number, slap etc, it takes seconds and can be done whilst singer is doing the chat, I cannot imagine not user a tuner live. Our guitarist uses his me50 too, there is nothing worse than being out of tune live.

On the flip side I would mention again, The Guitar Shop in Worcester, owned and run by Stuart Field, a real top guy with some interesting stock and a great attitude. Nothing is too much trouble and he is a gigging musician so knows the score. It is worth a trip to Worcester guys. And I recently made a detour to visit Denmark street, and called in at the famous bass shop that was earlier mentioned, they could not have been more unhelpful, I sincerely hope they all go bust because that is what they so richly deserve, and that shop's like Stuart's pick up the business, because they deserve it. It occurred to me that with the cumulative knowledge on this forum, we should write a book about bass guitars, with review sections, polls, technical information, etc etc.. and write the kind of book we would all want to buy... Just a thought

This one.... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4307 This is a beautiful bass, in immaculate condition, with a stunningly powerful sound, it is a luthier built boutique instrument that is a joy to behold. I bought it recently for £450 which is an absolute steal, but it is not for me, I am used to slimmer necks (Warwick Dolphins) so am looking for an interesting trade, what have you guys got. Cheers and happy new year to all

On a recent trip to Antwerp I made a diversion before getting on the train to go to Denmark Street, it looked very promising with all these great looking music shops, before I actually went in and met the lobotomy receiving dullards that could not be less bothered to help. I actually tried as a sport to engage them into selling me something, but this was obviously an alien principle to them. I mean, even on a commercial basis, who the funk employs these sales prevention officers, like, heres the business plan. 1) Expensive premises in London check 2) Exhorbitant rates bil check 3) Many thousands of pounds in stock check 4) Lots of expensive advertising check 5) A retard who wont sell anything check What can go wrong..... End of rant

The serial number looks to be S948497, any info would be gratefully received. Cheers guys

1979 Ibanez Musician REMOVED and others still for sale
vmaxblues replied to CJBASS's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi Cam I am an Ibanez collector, and have had loads of them, and a few Musicians, this is the cut down version, not the full blown musician, also the stock pickups on this era of Ibbys are awesome and very powerful, so the addition of a non stock pick up devalues it for me, but others might not worry. A full blown Musician bass these days goes for around £350, this model would be circa £250, and for me the non stock electronics and non factory defret would put it around the £200 mark. Having said all that, these basses are superbly well made and to buy an equivalent new bass would cost an arm and a leg IMHO -
