  1. Hey, I recently bought a pair of quite nice condenser mic's for recording and was trying them out on my double through a PA and loved the pure tone. What would/do you guys use between a concdencer mic and your amp (if you do this) to give it phantom power and adjust gain. Just a preamp? do these have gain feautres? I've got an 8 channel desk, but that seems a bit overkill just for the phanotom power and gain features. Any ideas? Thanks, Robin

  7. Hi, just buit up my first proper board, but not entirely happy with it yet, so have the following for sale to try and fund some other options: [s]-EHX Bassballs Nano - You know the deal - £35, 30,[/s] SOLD pending the usual -Devi Ever The Legend of Fuzz - fuzz pedal which goes from mildy controlled to completely insane with a quick twiddle - Boxed with manual £70 -Feeler - Guyatone PS-023 Chorus Flanger - 80's chorus/vib/Flanger pedal, nice smooth clear sounds from this, just not sure if these effects are for me, thinking of getting a delay/reverb instead - £80 All in great condition, with some velcro on the bottom, which can be removed on request. Prefer Collection/meet near southampton, but will post. Would accept a small/medium sized pedal board or a delay/reverb pedal for trade, although might be swayed by other offers. Thanks, Robin

  9. Sorry, i assume i'm being stupid, but i just one a bass on ebay and paid for it, then the seller sent me the following reply: "Hey there is there any chance you could leave me some good feedback so the money is released for the bass then i can get it sent tomorrow... im going away next week you see and i need to process the payment into my bank account." I've never come across this before. Should i be suspicious? I only worry as he's only been an ebay member since the 14th of january, and his only feedback says "awaiting delivery" or something similar, which makes me worry slightly. Hopefully just being stupid though as i want the bass. Thanks, Robin
  10. Basically, i think i'm looking for a 5 string P bass for around £300, but i can't find one anywhere (have seen things like the Vintage 950's etc., but i'm more after a conventional p, and preferrably not active). Squire doesn't seem to make a model, and the only Fender one seems to go for around £700 second hand, which is way out of my price range. I currently have: -Warmoth Fretless 5 jazz - covering my fretless side brilliantly -Schack U4 fretted 4 string (active jazz) - pretty much my dream 4 string and -Hohner Custom Jack V pro - which i bought to try and get a 5 string fretted bass, and also one which wasn't too expensive so i wouldn't worry about it as much (also have my Yamaha BBn4f, which has seen betterdays, but was my first bass, so a keeper) I'm not really getting on with the hohner. partly the neck, partly the string spacing, and partly the tone. Just not for me really, so i'm thinking of trading or selling it to get another 5. I'm also hankering for a P bass (as all my other's are jazzes of one sort or another), and preferrably passive (or switching) so it's a safe backup for the Schack. So the obivous bass for me would be a 5 string p bass, but i can't find any in my price range really. Any ideas? Also, on a side note, why do the Squire Precision 5 strings have jazz pups? is it to do with the neck and body? Thanks, Robin
