  1. Anyone else sticking “always on” pedals UNDER their boards? I’m saving some precious real estate by placing my noise gate out of the way.
  2. I’ve tried it with both bands I’m in, one is a single bass and guitar and the other is bass and 2 guitars. Whenever I turn it on I find myself increasing the treble on my bass so I can hear myself. It’s just not working for me for some reason. Completely personal and subjective I know.
  3. I’m currently looking for a Spark, it does seem ideal.
  4. Is the lack of a clean blend a problem?
  5. So this MXR is a massive disappointment. Even with the gain knob on zero it’s way more distortion than I wanted. This pedal is a distortion pedal, not an overdrive pedal. I just wanted to add a little hair to my clean sound. It also adds too much mud to the sound, even with the tone all the way up. Any advice for something a bit more natural sounding than this?
  6. It’s absolutely incredible. For £55 at Thomann it’s a no-brainer! Highly recommend it.
  7. I think you are right. I’m going to try my Scarlett 6i6 on my wife’s laptop.
  8. Awesome, thank you for the detailed response!
  9. It seems so straightforward, click track panned hard right and backing track itself panned hard left, send them to separate channels on the mixer and voila! However, it’s the sending it to the mixer part that’s causing the issues. Using the headphone out on a laptop and a splitter cable is causing some bleed between the channels. What are you guys using to get your click tracks and backing tracks into your PA?
  10. Compare James Hetfield’s recorded guitar parts to those he plays live. Entirely different but, as someone said above, close enough for people to make the connection.
  11. Will let it rip tonight at rehearsal, but at loud home volumes the result is… punchy. I love it!!!
  12. I made the mistake of clicking on one of his videos before. Never again.
  13. I’ve done a different thread about it, but essentially the deal breaker was still needing a mini board next to the Helix. It wasn’t the all in one solution I was hoping for. It sounded great but was disappointing in practical terms.
  14. FYI I sold my Helix this weekend. Stupid bloody thing. It does not do everything it promised and the DSP limit sucked.
  15. Sold the Helix, having a bit of a rebuild. It looks so empty 😂
  16. The Stomp only has very few “blocks”. 1-4 of these are immediately eaten up by amp/cab blocks. If you use two amps you are also SERIOUSLY close to hitting the DSP limit. Even some single bass amp models eat up loads of DSP. If you use a complex delay or reverb block it’s gone. Add a Plethora and you have 5 more “blocks” with no DPS used.
  17. The other option is to use an ABY pedal in reverse
  18. You can use the 1/4” and XLR inputs on a MarkBass simultaneously. Just get a TS jack to male XLR cable and it should be grand.
  19. Based on other threads on Basschat I’ve ordered an Orange Little Bass Thing and a TE 1x10” cab.
  20. Bit over budget sadly, looking at £700 max
  21. Bass direct have a used Rumble 200 head for basically free, should be fine with a decent 4ohm cab shouldn’t it?
  22. So the genuine suggestions so far are: -Markbass -Ashdown RM -Trace ELF Any that I should be looking at over the others, or is it just a pick the one I like best?
