1.
Hi Neil We have bought drumchat.co.uk with a view to making it part of a chat group of forums (to also include guitarchat) but we haven't worked on it yet.
So kiwi was being serious then? Looking forward to it
 2.
Use your ears. If you can't hear what the bassline is doing then make something up that fits. If you can't tell no one else will be able to either.
This. I think some people rely too much on being able to read the music. Sure, being able to read music is great but I think it is equally important to be able to learn by ear and memorise a song so that you don't need a sheet of paper in front of you to play it.
 3.
Quit moping, believe the right gig will turn up, get oh so enthusiastic about it...............and it will (according to Quantum Physics
Well quantum physics used to predict that everything would happen an infinite number of times. Now they're saying that time will actually end at some point, so that doesn't happen. Sad but true.
 4.
www.joinmyband.com www.starnow.com Take it from one who knows. DO NOT stop playing. You WILL regrett it. I stopped playing for 10 years and I curse the wasted time I could have spent improving my bass playing. I also curse selling my gear, because when the "itch" returned I ended up having to buy it all again. Or at least keep a working set-up (Couple of basses and you're amp).
Who is amp?
 5.
My fav Rammstein music vid is the one where they are in fat suits (forget which song that is). Really funny...I peed a little when I watched that for the first time!
KEINE LUST. "Ich habe keine lust" basically translates as "I can't be arsed" so pretty appropriate video idea lol.
 6.
I'm sure there are plenty on here would say you don't need one.
It depends how lazy you're feeling.
 7.
They have more aids for that sort of thing. Although it could be the same symptoms as me. They flare up with vibrations too. (Hence why I'm still sore after using a power washer on Saturday before any wise cracks.)
True. I was thinking of doing a male version for my dissitation actually, but decided against it.
 8.
You trying to say lucky fella ???? I can see people getting told off soon.
I mean it is not exclusively a male sport
 9.
somehow I don't think the OP has that problem. Just a little inkling
I know what you're saying, that doesn't necasseraly mean it's not the case though
 10.
Yahoo has all the answers you need http://answers.yahoo...09185225AADJohg
JESUS CHRIST
 11.
They're a great band. Don't take themselves too seriously either:
That video is great lol. I must say I think Rosenrot is one of my favourites by them.
 12.
Can any of you guys recommend what CD a Rammstein virgin should start with?
I would say probably the best 2 to start off with are Sensucht (the album with Du Hast on it) and Mutter
 13.
Chuck a Bareknuckle p'up in the bridge and tune it to drop G?
F# more like lol.
 14. I just listened to them off my computer. Great band
 15. I don't think the telecaster baritone really works as a concept imo.
 16.
Just wondering, are these rooms supposed to be rehearsal rooms? Only they look a little small! I saw some plans for this phase, but cant remember what page they're on and don't want to have to trawl for ages looking for them! Truckstop
I think these are like booths for recording vocals and sh*t. IIRC.
 17.
Heh, I tried drop A with the strings on it (10s with a .058 B I think) and that was pretty wobbly. If I do try it it will have to be a special order set, possibly a mix of bass and guitar strings- the guy uses something insane like a .090 for the bottom string.
You would probably have to mod the guitar to get a bass string in there, or just have the ball ends sit out of the end of the ferrule.
 18.
I'm still very much enjoying my own Omen Extreme 7 which I got about 6 weeks ago, although I'm a pretty terrible guitarist. I saw a post on sevenstring.org from a chap who tuned his 27" scale (the Schecters should be 26.5") E Bb E Bb E Bb E, where the low E is the same as a bass guitar low E and high E is the same as a normal guitar high E- quite fancy giving that a shot.
Cool stuff! I did tune it down to G. It means I can play songs in drop C on the top 6 strings or tune it up to D and play in drop G. I have literally got the heaviest string they had in stock at the shop in order to get the right tension on the G, but I do like heavy strings so I guess if you're not in requirement of such high tension then it might go down to E (64).
 19. That's really annoying. Can you not get some individual saddle type bridges?
That looks luscious! I've been interested in seven and eight stringed guitars for a while but can't find any around me to play with and nobody I know has one. There is some great music being made with them. Animals as Leaders is my current favourite and the only new music that has interested me in years.
Well I had to take a bit of a punt on this one, not even dawsons had a single 7 string guitar in stock so I just went with this one off ebay.
 20.
PRS? VERY expensive! If you're in it for the long run and want a guitar to last you a lifetime as you improve then fine if you can afford it. There's plenty of really good stuff out there though that won't cost a fortune. A budget of around £400 - 500 will get you something that will last you years. There's so many good instruments around at that sort of price that it's probably better to go and try a few to see how they feel. Japanese instruments are always good value for money compared to American stuff. As a beginner you won't have much idea so probably best to just sit with a few to see how you feel at this stage. If you want somewhere to start you could do worse than check out a few models from the (vast) Ibanez stable and branch out from there. Word of caution - don't get caught out by fancy artwork - you're paying for it remember (£400 on a guitar with a paint job is actually a £300 instrument underneath). Oh, and take your time - be prepared to walk out of the shop if you don't see anything you like. Beyond that it's hard to know what to say. Good luck though. Don't forget to enjoy it.
PRS SE. That is the "budget" range, typically £3-500.
 21.
Depends on what kind of music you're planning to play. I know it sounds obvious, but that's because it is. Also I would look to get a (much) better guitar before you even think of getting a Mesa Boogie. The money you spend on the amp is likely to be totally wasted with a cheap-as-chips guitar.
Well maybe if you have a ridiculously cheap guitar this would be the case, but I would say a nice amp will make a hell of a lot of difference to any guitar sound as long as it is playable.
 22.

46 years have not been kind
 23. Ey up, lad! I also live in east yorkshire.
 24.
How is it? I've been tempted by one of the same! Good thread mate!
It is pretty good so far, I like the feel of it, although I need to set it up properly though first. The previous owner had the action so low, it could practically crawl under a rattlesnake! I think the pickups are possibly a bit muddy.
