  1. Thanks. I only asked because I once had an 11 pound plus bass that had tone for days and I often wondered if it would have sounded like that if it were say 2 pounds lighter.
  2. But did it change it? Whether good or bad?
  3. I've learned what MTBF means only now. Every day's a school day 😂
  4. Saw her live at the Jazz Café in London back when she was already in her 60s. What a performance. She also came across as a very nice person which is equally as important.
  5. Outside of getting rid of the bass this is the solution in my books but the OP doesn't like wide straps so...
  6. Why don't you like the wide padded straps out of interest?
  7. A bass is only worth what someone will pay for it. I've seen basses in certain stores sit on the wall for literally over a year and counting based on that theory. There's been a Yamaha RBX765a on Ebay for the LONGEST time in fact it's still there. It's had simms led's fitted and the asking price is £1,260.00!!! Maybe I've missed something there 😅
  8. Check the two listings yourselves chaps 😊 And my favourite colour happens to be the cheaper one.
  9. I'm no Yamaha expert but I know the Japanese ones when I see them 😂
  10. As stated they are both Japanese TRB5ii model basses 😊
  11. As has been stated before, great collection but not sure about the prices. There's 2 Yamaha TRB5ii basses currently on Gumtree. His one is £899 and the other one is £525.
  12. He's not linked to https://www.sellusyourguitar.co.uk is he by any chance? Also in Ashton-under-Lyne 🤔
  13. This was pretty much my experience with an SVT7-PRO from about 2012 and I've not touched the brand ever since.
  14. 4 string 34" scale basses are easily the most ubiquitous.
  15. Beautiful creation. Does anybody know why Sadowskys have no fret dot markers on the 21st fret? I've often wondered about that. I've also noticed it on American G&L basses.
  16. Hypnotherapy might help to correct that? 😂 I'm just joking obviously.
  17. I'll have it for £215 then? I'm joking obviously 😂
  18. If you're after low tension also include DR Sunbeams (nickel) or Highbeams (steel) in your search. They're round core.
  19. I've never heard of Martin Mendez or the band Opeth. So he was playing a signature Fender Marcus Miller jazz bass back then?
  20. This is so true. I'm seeing used Lakland Skyline 55-01's for nearly a grand now and used Fender American Deluxe basses hovering around the £1.6k mark.
  21. Ah got you. Then yes the roundcore Highbeams should indeed feel more flexible than the standard hex core Dunlops. Would be interesting if you were able to compare but as you say there is no Superbright in a similar gauge. I play with a really low action too but as mentioned earlier I use the lightest gauges I can find as I play with a very light touch.
  22. What is that in front of the pickup?
  23. Agree. I use Superbrights and wonder why they're called that. Interesting what you say about the Hi Beam comparison as I personally found Superbrights more flexible and easier to push about. As I'm sure you already know they have a hex core but it's super thin. Did you use a like for like gauge on each brand? I use 40-120 on them.
