  1. Yes!!! Totally agree with cab placement respective to wall position. Forgot about that.
  2. Makes sense πŸ‘
  3. Will you leave the preamp as is or add the VTC?
  4. Can't believe this is still here at this price 😳
  5. What's weird is there are a few serial numbers that are 94/95 according to some reports. You probably already know the 5 string models were exclusively made in USA.
  6. Actually I forgot because I rarely use it. I dig in a bit when using my envelope filter pedal to trigger it. But that's it ☺️
  7. Good point but they were really tatty by the time I'd done with them and I just wanted them out my life. You are right though πŸ˜‰
  8. Probably best to contact Fender directly?
  9. I may get arrested for doing this but I finally put my TI Jazz flats in the bin. I installed and reinstalled them on various basses over the two years I owned them but I have to admit to not understanding the flatwound appeal compared to rounds. They're not the first I've tried but definitely the most expensive as I wrote in a previous post.
  10. What's the bridge string spacing on this? I always thought Sadowsky 5 strings were 19mm by default but I'm seeing 18mm recently on some specs.
  11. This is me all day every day. I don't dig in. Might as well let the amp work for it's keep and turn up the volume knob as and when needed. My tone doesn't suffer one bit as a result.
  12. It's not a walk in shop. There's no visible "store" front on the street. I made appointments each time I visited. Passers-by would never know it's there.
  13. Those who know,know πŸ˜‰
  14. This. Also take place of manufacture out of the equation when a good bass is a good bass.
  15. Oh believe me he's legit. I nearly bought a used SR5 off him a couple of years ago. I've visited his store at least two times πŸ‘
  16. This is true. If I was a 4 string Fender kind of guy I'd go and give it a test run. I don't live too far from this shop. The owner has a decent bass inventory and invites offers. I hope he gains more traction in the marketplace going forward.
  17. https://fenderfever.com/products/2375?_pos=49&_fid=ab9285fa2&_ss=c Case in point. Albeit a Jazz.
  18. If the guy you refer to in Birmingham Guitar Guitar is their resident bassist his name is Oz and indeed is an absolute gentleman. To be fair they all are.
  19. With regards to Fender passive jazz basses the S-1 switch from the old American Series made a huge impact on tone(series/parallel for who might not know). I think it should have been a standard feature as the switch within a switch was so unobtrusive some owners didn't even know it was there. Don't like it? Don't engage it. Bit like me and the cruise control feature in my car.
  20. I've been prepared to get rid of basses in the past until...I changed the strings!
  21. The power of the Fender decal (as we know too well) strikes again mate. Β£500 is too much based on the new original price.
  22. Would you consider snagging a used Dimension one day? I personally wouldn't rule that out based on an American Deluxe V I tried once with the single humbucker. It didn't sound like a Stingray (no big deal to me) but I don't think it was supposed to. I liked its inherent voicing.
  23. I think my point is it can "reach" into the space you mentioned between itself and the MIM Fender Player Series due to the quality. I wasn't comparing it to other brands.
  24. The latest versions of active Squier Affinitys are REALLY good though. I briefly had a 5 string black Jazz V.
