    My take on this is any bass can be used for any genre as long as you bond with it. Ultimately the bass does whatever you tell it to. I know others may disagree and feel for example if you play genre X then you need to play bass Y. I say bond with the feel and sound of a bass and it doesn't matter. My opinion only 😊

    I really notice the real estate on my Fender 4+1 headstock when I pack it in my Warwick gig bag. It's my preferred bag when on public transport as the top of the bass doesn't sit a mile over my head. I like my Fender but the headstocks (compared to my Warwick 3+2) looks unnecessarily huge 😄

    If I'm being honest it's got quite some weight to it. I would say a padded 4" strap may help things though. I had it on my lap with no strap.

    Is it a big job? Having played the bass I feel it's the reason it's still unsold. It's a decent axe.

    I think the upshot was it would have featured in the wood before production rather than afterwards. No idea myself either way 🤷‍♂️

    I played this in Bass Direct some weeks back. Aside from the pin holes I thought it was a decent bass. They weren't sure what could have caused it.

    Yes to this. In fact I've just got a used Mexican Fender Player Plus V modded with a Sadowsky on-board preamp and so far I'm very pleased with it. Nothing wrong with it at all.

    Oh discontinued? Shame. But then I'm going back about 12 years now or so.DIY is NOT my strong point if I'm being honest but if you're handy enough why not give it a go?

    Really good. I had zero problems with it personally. Did the job and was a brand match.

    And you can see the words "I agree to them being outlawed?" I was agreeing to the overall sentiment of not being a fan of relicing. The outlaw reference was clearly meant in a non-literal sense just to illustrate the point. And it's me that needs to keep up huh?

    How about you stick to buying new but reliced instruments and I stick to buying new gear that looks new? Everybody ends up happy.

    Even though I use them I've never understood the asymmetry of jazz basses. Charvel and Markbass have symmetrical offerings and not only do they look better to my eye they sit on stands way easier.

    As I sit here admiring my Warwick Streamer with the 4 gold knobs in a diamond shape 😂 My Thumb however has the magic number for you of 3 AND they follow the curvature of the lower bout 😊

    I agree with your points made but as you said the initial response should have been an apology and a refund.

    They initially tried to pass the buck to the original owner? That's insane!!

    It's not just them I'm afraid. I had to return a Lakland Skyline DJ5 to Guitar Guitar last month for the exact same reason. I was gutted as the bass was incredible otherwise 😪 And yes you'd think that would be checked before being sold on.
