Used. Held on to this after selling my GK Neo cabs, but will never use it.
Gallien Kreuger used to ship these GK-branded cables with Neo cabs (they maybe still do?!) - 4 pin speakon cable so perfect for bi-amping your RB amp to your Neo cab, and of course will work fine for any two pin Speakon amp > cab setup. 1.3m cable length. Connectors are unbranded so assume they're not e.g. Neutrik... always worked ok for me between RB and Neo.

All or nothing, no splits. Some stuff that might be of use to someone?!

    • Onori (me neither) 2½“ leather strap. Used, in good condition. Decent enough - grippy. Adjusts from 120cm to 145cm.
    • Goodmans CD walkman - cheap background music solution for between sets at your gig, esp. the pubs you wouldn't leave your phone unattended on the mixer! Plays MP3s burnt to disc too. Mains/rechargeable battery/dry cell battery. Actually really good for a walkman! PSU/charger included, but no batteries.
    • Chops Play hand conditioner / pH balancer. Used.
    • Decent set of Chrome strap buttons from a Yamaha BB.
    • Schaller straplock spares, well used first edition. One flat washer + nut missing. One of the buttons is not a Schaller - it fits the straplock but the screw hole is slightly too small to accept the usual Schaller screw. No felt washers.
    • Keyser KDS100 string cleaner / extender. Used.
    • D'Adaddario XLR8 string lubricant and cleaner. Used.
    • Korg BT-2 desktop tuner. Old school swingy needle fella - no LEDs here! In and out sockets, PP3 battery only (cover present and clips in properly), tunes 4, 5 and 6 string with normal/flat option. Backlit, but not dazzingly so at this age :-).
    • Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes string cleaning swab.
    • Bass hardware: three pots... 6mm shaft, made in Japan, unused and probably 20 years old - no reason to suspect they don’t work but equally no way to test them (I’ve scratched “LIN” on the back of the B250k, I guess the other two are log); one mono jack barrel socket; one stereo jack barrel socket; 116cm of mini twin core + screen cable, 2½ mm diameter; four 16mm pickup springs; one round nickel string tree; two random well-chewed strap buttons; screws and washers.
    • Two generic/no name leather 2½“ straps, lightly used. No longer adjustable - sewn to a fixed length of 133cm hole to hole.

    Excellent digital delay pedal.

    • Nine delay types
    • Stereo / mono
    • Does a bit of looping!
    • Hold down footswitch - it mutes, and you can play the tempo in from your bass
    • Supports TonePrint loading via phone / USB + laptop
    • 9v DC power only, standard Boss 2.1mm centre negative, 100mA
    • No box. Hook velcro on bottom

This does a ton of stuff really well - worth having a read of TC's manual for this, really explains the functions well:

  4. If you want the nuclear option, Peterson StroboStomp. Always on, or bypass it, with or without buffer. Massive overkill really but (for electric, I have no idea about db!) when setting intonation after a restring and setup it’s indispensable

So had a little sort out dropped a few pedals and added a few back in have a second blooper on the way from damnation. This setup runs the sub all the time, out of my stage bug and I’ve set it up to have the main out from my origin bass rig but the gt1000 runs another amp sim line out aswell for extra options

There’s a lot to be said for Class D heads , but the modern hifi clean is not the same as the old tube warmth. Two entirely different things , despite the creation of hybrids with tube preamps.

Agreed. I’ve tried to love my GK MB500 because it’s tiny and light, but I still schlep my RB and flight case to rehearsals and gigs. Not valves admittedly, but a nice big iron analogue old school EQ and gain/power stage that sounds ace.

  7. Roland UM-ONE-MK2 USB/MIDI interface

£20 inc. postage (mainland UK only). Got some 5 pin DIN MIDI gear that you need to connect to your laptop / other USB thing? Here's what you need. Unused, seem to be around £44ish new so £20 posted (Royal Mail 2nd class jiffy bag). 5 pin DIN in and out with 700mm of cable, USB A with 1200mm of cable on the other end. No box.

Requires driver, see downloads page for available Windows and Mac drivers. So I guess it's not class compliant. Manual.

    Thanks!

Does that mean i should pull the 13a fuses out and fit 10a ?

Technically yes, but in practical terms the days of appliances causing fuses to blow are largely gone - “stuff” is less prone to faults that induce large current influx compared to when the existing plug top and fuse came into being.

One of the fuse’s functions is to protect the appliance’s cable from burning out if the appliance tries to pull more than its cable is rated for, eg in a fault condition.

Because I’m old school, I always fit a fuse that’s rated above the appliance’s max draw (dur) but below the cable’s capacity. If I’m making a mains extension eg 6 or 8 gang, I use 1.5mm cable that’ll carry 16amps and fuse at 13. My bass amp’s kettle lead is fused at 5amp but can handle 10amp etc

  9. My ancient BTB is fitted with a comparable US Bart pre to this one (+ US Bart humbuckers). It’s excellent. Really nice EQ range, the three way switch freqs are well chosen, the blend really does blend very well (sounds daft, but not all pres do this well). Quiet. It’s a great choice.

Also had that glock pre on a sandberg with haussel P and MM. Again, superb. Very hifi clean and clear, didn’t really add its own ‘voicing’ in the subtle way that Bart pres do. Stupendous EQ - SO. MUCH. BASS. (To be fair, it was a 13kg plus bass!). Brilliantly chosen EQ points. Honestly didn’t miss the switchable mid BUT the tone / sound diff between the P and the MM way more marked than on the Ibby above with 2x identical pups.

Difficult choice. Have you any idea of what pickups you’ll be upgrading to? I bet a set of Nordstrand Big Singles would KILL through the Bart pre, for example. And Ibby’s with Nordstrands sound great, had one of those too!

  10. Great song. Great bass line. Might be a Yam in the vid but £20 says that’s his Rick on bridge pick-up on the recording.

But yeah - it’s an excellent example of top tier simultaneous singing and bass playing from a master.

That’s the killer problem for me… when the line and the vocal are radically different rhythms I’m knackered. Like Addicted to Love which I’d love to get in our set. Can sing the derrière off it. Can play it nicely. Can’t do both together!
