  1. One of the greats. I have the album, the live album and the live dvd. Listen carefully to the live version, you should be able to hear me in the crowd 🙂
  2. Was the kettle lead earthed. May have been an earth loop broken by using a kettle lead with no earth, or vice versa providing a missing earth.
  3. Thanks Tim, but I'm perfectly capable of patronising myself without extetnal assistance, as I'm sure you are aware.
  4. Get a man to tell you how it should be done.
  5. Twelfth Night; the greatest prog band that never made it big. Live at the Target: Definitive Edition. https://twelfthnight.info/?cds=live-at-the-target-the-definitive-edition-2
  6. Well anyone who calls their product 'bugera veyron' doesn’t lose sleep over ripping things off.
  7. The body outline. Either 'traditional' Fender shspe, rehardless of size. Pups... too much variation to be meaningful.
  8. It's a problem when the listener's ear is better than the intonation on your bass. They are unlikely to diagnose the issue, they just won't think you sound as good as they would if you were playing in tune.
  9. Body shape + headstock shape
  10. Last night saw our own @RaymondoaRaymondoand Cisco support the Achievers. Brilliant night a good time was had by all.
  11. Isaac Newton would have loved to see a modern light show with dichroic afilters and narrowband LEDs. You csn see a proof of his work on the composition of light right there!
  12. Set up is a big variable. I wonder how many 'weak' pickups were set too low, or badly balanced odd sounding basses had pickups too high?
  13. PC&TBS are awesome. I've seen them do their own set three times. Unfortunately the Merthyr gig sold out in two days!
  14. Just a thought, but fingerstyle players seem to wander further from the bridge than pick players. Or is it my imagination?
  15. I found a well mixed CD of my brother's old AC/DC tribute playing life in 2007. It's rather good, I'd rather hear this than Live at River Plate... shame I never saw them!
  16. 'Precision' is not a specific model, it's no more than a sub-brand used by Fender. Unlike Jaguar and Mustang, for example, it uses it solely for basses. As something of a failed taxonomist, the consistent features of a Precision are few and far between: Bass guitar, made or licenced by Fender under the labels Fender or Squier. Bears the word 'Precision' in its name. Has a non-offset body shape. Standard layout with a traditional Fender-shaped headstock, four tuners on the one side (a fifth on the bottom is optional) and a single bridge unit. Just about everything else varies, sometimes almost everything else is different from the original ('51) or classic style.
  17. Hard not to love everything they do, although that's a bit less diverse than most of their songs.
  18. Hardly 'went on' as ELO were formed five years before Funky Moped... plus ELO came from The Move, a very successful band.
  19. The padded cover is enough to cope with that.
  20. I had the simple straight line but height adjustable bridge on my acoustic guitar replaced. The luthier fitted a bone bridge filed for intonation. To my surprise the intonation is spot on at the 12th fret.
  21. Well... 'full' consumption is 880w which is 10% more than 800w which is consistent with 800w rms from class D. Peak values rely on instantaneous voltage peaks and are "powered" by stored rnergy in the PSU capacitors. Only useful to indicate headroom available for brief transients, so maybe useful for slappers at a push.
