there's seems a common thread here, communication, I always try and reply to emails unless it's obvious one is not needed,after all it doesn't cost anything, our guitarist is terrible at replying, but if he occasionally sends one out and nobody replies straight away we get 'is my email not worthy of a reply then?' I just don't understand how people can be so hypocritical.

[/quote] If you gig as a hobby, as most of us do I suspect, well I do anyway, the money is a bonus, compare it to playing football, if say Wayne Rooney was just a very average player he'd probably turn out on a Sunday morning for nothing because he enjoys doing it. If anybody is gigging just for the money, it's a job not a hobby,

I play with a 1mm pick so I get fret rattle when I get carried away, but it doesn't seem to come through the amp, I'm at about 2.5mm on the 12 fret bottom E string, is that about average?

Ok we're always hearing about how hard it is to get lefty basses, but are their any advantages? I can only think of two, makes the band look very symmetrical, assuming 1 right handed guitarist of course, and there's less chance of the singer being smashed round the ear with a headstock on a small stage, but I'm not sure whether that's an advantage or a disadvantage

depends on your personality ego driven extroverts like me love playing live to a crowd, but some people hate it, they can never conquer their nerves.

[/quote] In my limited experience, you generally start off as friends but the longer you're together the more likely it is to have fall out, doesn't mean you can't carry on just means you don't see each other outside the band. Depends what your definition of friends is I suppose

this happened to me, the other 3 members of our band went of and joined up with another songwriter/ guitarist and bass player, our singer told me what was happening but not the other 2, I was really pissed off, very nearly quit, but stuck with it because when we were actually playing I was still enjoying it, but it's ruined any friendship we had

I went to see Black Sabbath at the NEC a few years, hated it I I've avoided large venues ever since, Rock City in Nottingham is about as large as I'll go think it holds about 2000, and I hate sitting down completely ruins it for me. I'd rather go and see a good tribute in my local pub then watch the real thing in an aircraft hanger. Another thing how come the bigger the venue the higher the price, shouldn't it be the other way on?
