  1. Spotted that. I guy at my work got gifted an engraver by his daughter. He's already done some impressive stuff with it. I bet PCGsGC will be dead envious if he sees that auction!
  2. Saw that. Probably a good idea, but, yeh, it's a mod. If I was interested, I'd ask to see the tailpiece side-on, but am not going to waste the guy's time.
  3. Behringer Ultrabass Warwick Dolphin Pro 1 (Ovangkol) Squier Classic Vintage Strat
  4. Most of the Rick basses I had had ok necks, my favour being a 'shouldered' 1973 4001 . I also had a V63 which was a dream to look at, and sounded amazing, but the neck was like a baseball bat so it got moved on.
  5. Aww. maaan.... All this came about me thinking about the old Pangton, the model from around 1990 that I when out in Germany around that time.
  6. I really, really fancy one of those, but at £7K? Ut-ut.
  7. This bass caught my eye, and I wanted to hear the sound file.....😄 Le Fay Capone 20231005_140422.mp4
  8. Anything Wilkinson. Their three-saddle, compensated Tele tailpiece is a fraction of the price of the Gotoh
  9. This has been up for a while, and I'm sure he's increased the stated price in the header yet is asking over £1K in the description. I think he's trolling, getting off on the replies. Shafto 4001
  10. Definitely an '80s thing, which I reckon this bass is. Alembic and JD certainly used XLR. My guess is the XLR was installed to activate the battery, but that could have been done via jack socket.
  11. Over-rated: Rickenbackers; MM Stingrays; Ampeg SVT (any) Under-rated: Harley Benton/Sire
  12. Compared to what the Yanks can buy them for, most definitely.
  13. Immaculate, but needs a bit of electronic TLC> Westone.
  14. Antoria Eagle neck. Dunno what that bridge is off, but Fender had something akin to that on their Elite Series in the '80s. Shadow was a German pup manufacturer. Fenderbird thingy
  15. Here's the late, great Phil Lynott putting his 4001 through an Acoustic rig and Hiwatt guitar head via Rick-o-sound.
  16. Always fancied one of them. Out of my price range, that one.
  17. Never understood how they came to angle the neck and the headstock.
  18. A very rude individual. Once tricked me, on a forum, into calling him, as he had some information that might interest me with regard to an item the forum was discussing ( Rick toasters) . Once through to him, he revealed who he was then proceeded to berate me at length. He seemed to think that I was accusing him of selling counterfeit RIC gear, which was far from the truth.
  19. Meet & Greet and the option to buy the played bass. Insane coin, and I'll bet he sells them all!
