Couldn't figure out the best place for pickup questions, so here goes: I have a swamp ash P bass body and I feel like doing something different with it for my next project. I love the sound of Thunderbirds, but can't get on with the shape of them and the skinny necks, so I thought I'd get some T Bird pickups and see how it sounds. I assumed there were loads of readily available pickups that people use for that sound... I was very wrong! The only ones seem to be in the States and cost hundreds for a set. Can anyone suggest any humbuckers (passive circuit) that might give me that sort of hot vintage vibe, that are readily available in the UK? Not concerned about the shape, I'll route for whatever I get. Bonus points if they come in chrome covers! Open to custom UK builders too. I appreciate simply sticking T Bird pups in an ash P bass won't make it sound like a T Bird, just going for something different.

No more than any other amp I've owned, can't say it would bother me when recording. The fans are definitely going but I've heard louder for sure.

Yes, it was in bridge mode when I used the speakon. I then changed it to unbridged mode to try the 1/4" lead and Output A worked fine... nothing from Output B. Strange, the fans aren't that noisy at all on this one. You certainly wouldn't notice it on a stage.

Good to know... took the top off and can't see anything obvious. Guess I need to look for a local amp repair shop.

Yeah, that's what I thought 😣 Thanks, I'll open it up and see if I can find anything obviously loose. From the research I've done it's just a standard speakon.

Hi, I just bought a used LH1000, and noticed the bridge doesn't work with the speakon cable. I checked output A with a 1/4" cable and it worked and sounded great, but there's no sound from output B, which I guess is why the bridge isn't working. Any ideas what could be wrong? Do you think it could be user error somehow?
