  1. Thanks Ricky - a small part towards redeeming yourself!
  2. Aaah, my dear misguided friend! *shakes head, smiling in a patronising manner* We were discussing the ubiquitousness of the precision bass - my analogy, or analogy if you will, was drawing an interesting comparison between the world of motor-vehicles & bass guitars - subjects that are very dear to many BCers hearts. I had hoped to spark an interesting bass/car discussion that could have led to enlightening & light-hearted interaction. Instead, I was met with your washing line silliness. Ricky, I feel that you've let yourself down, you've let Rickenbacker owners down, you've let BassChat down, and most of all, you've let me down.
  3. Salut Sté ...again
  4. Hi Steve
  5. Hi Tony
  6. It's like the VW Golf of the bass world - rugged, reliable, moderately pretty, often copied & available in loads of different versions. The jazz is more like a Jaguar XJS - more sporty, not as ubiquitous & prettier. Yamaha basses are the Mazda MX5 of the bass family - absolutely fabulous, good value for money & on the receiving end of snobbery because they're not European / American. Dingwall / Fodera & others are like supercars - expensive, odd-looking, wholly impractical & temperamental. Rickenbackers are like...? Anyone?
  7. Yes I do, but be aware, I'm just the next fashion waiting to happen
  8. How VERY dare you! I'll have you know NONE of my basses have more than the first 12 frets.
  9. Thankyou kindly, Mr Fleabag
  10. BassTractor wins!
  11. Hahaha!
  12. Found this... https://stevewexlertopshelf.com/2013/02/25/two-great-bass-lines-from-a-great-bass-player/ Not sure if its correct though. Great bassline!
  13. This is the one I took... http://www.brainmapping.org/shared/Edinburgh.php
  14. The second test has more options. I'm left-handed, but can use both hands for a lot of things. The first test didn't take any of that into account, the second did
  15. I just did the second test - The laterality index for this respondent is: -50.00 The respondent is in the 2d left decile The augmented (15 item) index is: -36.67 I guess this means I'm 63.33% left-handed? (I'm not exactly sure how this works)
  16. You've made the first, tiny step (acceptance that there is a problem), now you need to be a big Skinnyman, & let us* help you. It's a long and difficult road ahead, but I have every confidence that you'll be successful, if you just let us* help you. (* TeebsRehab™)
  17. Having very carefully considered your illness, I prescribe abstinence. In order for you to achieve a complete recovery from this terrible affliction, you need to abstain from owning, buying or playing basses & guitars until you have beaten it. To this end, I'm sending round a specialist courier to your house this morning to collect all of your basses & guitars. The guitars & Rickenbackers will be humanely destroyed, and the remaining basses will be returned to you once I deem you to have made a complete recovery. I'm only doing this for your own good, and I'm sure that one day, you'll thank me.
  18. Which is your favourite?
  19. You have more than enough basses, Mr. SM! 🤑
  20. Bloomin' 'eck SM! That’s a SERIOUS habit, right there! Very tasty collection! 👍
  21. Ha! Me too!
  22. Hiya Steve
