Perhaps I am cheating again since I posted this the other day... But my current favourite.
It's been a real motivator in terms of trying to get anywhere near that level of accuracy... Metronomes are a necessity, for me, least 😁
And it's damn funky!
I’ve never heard that before that’s really good what’s the bpm

I’ve had so many headphones I’ve lost count right from cheap to quite expensive but the best for bass and clarity for me are the Dre beats studio (not solo) mine are wireless but they do come with a cable with a standard 3.5 mm jack

Just got back home from P.M.T. Leeds with my new US Elite Jazz & I am so pleased with it,I can't stop grinning.
It was a tough call between the black & the natural Ash bass, took me over an hour to make my mind up,but I made the right choice - I think.
It's my 50th birthday bass but just over a year late 😁
So nice. I want one now 😀

I’m a massive fan of La Bella black tapes, they are perfect for what I play I have a nominated tokai jb which I get serious low end out of but still a very clean sound, and they feel great

I do think about running an elite courier agency just for the UK, for Basschat sales only.
I’d quit my day job, switch the Volvo to a transit connect...
it’d be dearer but your gear would arrive in one piece.
Man and Van - bass guitar department.
You may have something there Andy might be worth looking into

If I go the clear coat refinish route, I’m thinking of making a new pick guard and control plate from a similar hued wood. Would look nice I think. 😊
I’ll look forward to seeing that 👍

Interesting that mine is front-routed from the neck pickup to the control cavity, and yours isn’t....
Yeah I’ve noticed that some are and some aren’t , the difference being the front routed ones you would have to have a pickguard on to cover the groove

That’s looking great the black blocks look good with the yellow. My 74 jb has a slightly deeper neck profile which I wasn’t sure about at first but the more I played it the more I liked it. Really top job 👍

I’ve read This before that certain paint finishes can alter the tone because they alter the density I’ve also been told not to use furniture polish either as that can have a similar effect Really nice job by the way 👍

I actually think it’s quite exiting picking a bass up after a good setup , as it’s my main pastime I don’t mind how much I spend

Yeah that’s true. I asked for a full set up and they did the truss rod ,bridge, intonation and pickups. It was a vast improvement

PMT have a guy who comes in once a week to do all the bass set ups they charge £35 for a full set up I didn’t think that was bad

I found having my action as low as I can get it 1.5 to 2 mm allows me to play with a lighter touch and it’s easier for me to mute in my style of playing

I have two weaknesses and one strength.
Weakness No.1; I'm not very good at playing the bass yet.
Strength; I practice a lot.
Weakness No.2; I'm not getting any better!
You probably are but don’t realise it Have a closer look at what you’re actually practicing and don’t try to cover too much at once it’s better to be able to play one thing really well than lots of things untidy it takes time but it will come 😀
