If you are interested in the modes this is worth a watch , he basically breaks them
down into their arpeggios , the 1st , 3rd ,5th and 7th note of each mode ,

I’d do exactly that - for under £100 I’d strip it, rejoin and refinish as a project.
Yeah, split it, biscuit joint it glue and clamp it . It actually looks like quite a nice bass

The crack goes right through to the front, you would have to split the body and re join it

They balance way far better because of the lack of head. Neck diving is therefore impossible.
Thanks hellzero , I really don’t need one but you know how it is 😀

I’ve never played a headless, but I really fancy one now, do they have any downside ie do they balance ok?
-
I see that yesterday it looks like the body is split , not the paint

I have dabbled learning them but in all honesty don't understand them, the more I try to delve into the theory side of music the more daunting it gets! Watched countless youtube vids ect some contradict one another saying you need to learn this that and the other all over the neck, others say you only need to learn this blah, blah all very confusing at times, there are some great and helpful sights ect which make it understandable but for the average pub player wanting to improve some go way over the head...at the end of the day if your playing covers down your local to a whizzed up rowdy audience who couldn't give a toss about what your playing. I think if your wanting to play solos maybe there useful but I doubt they are any use to the average Joe, I would love to improve but just not good or bright enough to make it all click unfortunately.
I’ve been playing bass for years and up until 4 years ago I didn’t even know what a mode was so I started studying bass theory and the more I read the more things fell into place. This chart maybe of use to you 😀 Daric Bennett has some great lessons on them

Basschat could do worse, than finding a few members who are both capable and willing to film a regular tutorial to put up on here. A video version of the podcast which incorporates tutorials?
There's enough decent players here to make that happen?
@ped?
I think that’s a great idea 👍

Apparently it's actually only 500W RMS into 4ohm and 300W into 8ohm so it's decently loud rather than ridiculously loud.
Besides, you could use it as headphone amp for home use after curfew.
Thanks Al 👍

I really don’t need another amp , But I like the look of that ,do you think it would sound ok at low volume for home use ? Or because of the output would it be best used at higher volume

Becominga bass player at 60 in 2018 means one will never make money at it and will, quite frankly, be laughed at.
You are never too old to learn bass ,or any instrument for that matter, and not very friendly advise imo

The maker of that instrument has a great career ahead of them...
...however, not as a luthier.
Yeah a lumberjack

Yes it is. That was 79 and Wobble was King for me. That was our first gig at the local youth club, only started playing bass a few weeks before. Remember it like yesterday! We only knew 3 songs Public Image , pretty Vacant and a dodgy version of White riot. We played each song about 3 times until nearly everyone had left. Our drummer was good tho
That’s great Only asked because I was 14 and just bought my first bass and i remember playing public image and exodus, Bob Marley 👍

If you’re not comfortable doing it. Then don’t ,it could turn out to be more hassle than it’s worth
-
That’s quite a set up. I want one 😀

I was a full time pit player for about 25 years or so. I must say WSS, along with Jesus Christ Superstar were my favourites to play. Both very different of course.
That’s quite an achievement lowdown , I can imagine it to be varied and interesting.
