I know! I kind of like it!

A guy was selling them locally, I just saw them and thought they were cool. The only thing I can find is a few Reverb ads. But they seems very well made.

My vow to not buy any more gear is failing quite spectacularly! With the purchase of a couple of Jazz basses called Brian! I don't know much about these at all so any info much appreciated. They appear to be really well put together! Got some info from the internet Model: Brian by Bacchus JB-style Made: Korea, late 1990s (no serial on these) Finish: gloss Body: alder (unverified) Weight: 4.475kg Neck: maple, 15" radius, 34" scale Pickups: Bacchus 8-pole single coils They appear to be very similar in colour with one with a blueish green finish which I suppose is teal. The other is green both look very nice and sound great. They are relatively heavy though, they were apparently imported from Japan to the UK. I only wanted one but they were both excellent so I just got them both,

Hi Folks A friend of mine has bought a Guild Starfire and was after case or a gigbag. There is an actual Guild case but I was wondering if there are other options. Thanks S

40th Anniversary Precision £259 at Thomann!
steviedee replied to Frank n funker's topic in Bass Guitars
After waiting for ages for the Jazz to appear! It’s going back, had a look at it last night and a big f*** off crack has appeared! Pretty disappointing to be honest. No problem with Thomann offered a refund immediately as they have none in stock. Big crack aside I quite liked it so a bit disappointed they have no stock and I have to box it up! But the crack is worrying! -

I’ve got one of these and I reckon I can keep adding levels and she might not notice. But soon I’ll need to take care of the ceiling. -

Can tell me where I can buy a scratchplate the fits the 40th anniversary Jazz! Thanks !🙏 -
I bought my son a Roland TD1-K kit. Very good I think, got it pretty cheap on gumtree. Quite compact could maybe do with an actual physical bass drum as oppose to just a pedal but it’s good.

Pretty sure this Custom Elwood 5a active 5 string has been owned by a one or two basschatters! Very lightweight and sounds great! -Alder body -Maple neck and fretboard (nice grain on the fretboard!), matte finish, carbon rods for reinforcement, nut width 45mm, radius 14”, 34” scale. -Charcoal Frost Metallic finish (lovely dark grey with a dark blue hue to it) -Aguilar AG5J-HC hum cancelling pickups -Delano Sonar 2 active preamp, with a push-pull volume to switch to full passive, with the treble knob acting as a tone.

These look great but no idea what shipping costs would be!

I was committed to thinning the herd, sold a Rick and then bought 3 basses to replace it... this being the third 😬! -

So the Jazz has arrived and snuck in the house and hidden away. Had to get rid of a buzz on the G string but otherwise seems really well put together! I've only had a few Fenders over the years so no expert so not going to make any wild claims but if someone had said it was a Fender for twice the price I wouldn't have thought anything of it. I'm a bit of a sucker for white and gold so I love the look but I did see a pic with a white pearloid scrachplate which looked lovely. Have an empty house later this evening so looking forward to having a wee blast!- 313 replies

Just bought a Leathergraft from eBay it was cheap and a uk company, if its good I'll probably buy a few more.

What I read but I don't if it's true that the original was manufactured in China and they were running dual production lines! More likely some just got the schematics but it's a great wee thing! (GUILTY!)

I’ve been looking at that book I need to get it. I was shown a pattern by a drummer pal where the notes land on the 2 offbeat and 4, which worked and began to make sense

Looks great that bass of yours!

Hey @Bassassin I was hoping you would reply! I reckon every time someone buys a strange Japanese bass you are on speed dial! That Sleekline looks great. I'm glad these are rare as I don't need to have another thing to collect! Thanks for the info!

Don’t want to bore people to death with this but I’m genuinely knocked out at what an excellent wee bass this is. I’m not much for tinkering with truss rods etc but got the action down really low and it plays and sounds really great. Cleaned up the saddles and got some speed knobs which look like the originals.
