Thanks for the info guys I'll have a mess around with it tonight and definitely look at the blend functions I've only been able to demo it thru headphones and it seemed a little toppy but hopefully I'll have a go thru my practice rig albeit at low volume. I think the editing software is totally great, I've been quite knocked out by the ease of use. I nabbed an expression pedal on ebay but it's the old style but I'm hoping it still works with the unit.

An oldish thread but I just picked up a B3 and have to say after messing with it for a couple of ours I'm pretty impressed. The software is excellent. I just dumped the presets onto to my PC and started with a clean slate but will go through the factory presets to see if there is anything useable. I just wanted something simple I have ms60B and it's great but a wee bit fiddly. The B3 allows me to have a basic tone and two extra stomp boxes. So for fretless I can have compression with the option of some modulation and some delay/reverb by switching the virtual pedals on and off. On the ms60B I would have had to switch to separate patches. I'd be interested in the best set up it seems to have quite a hot signal and I noticed people mentioning blend and output settings both on the individual patches and globally. Any info would be gratefully received. Another question would be are the amp sims primarily for recording or practice? I've never really bothered with them as I have an amp! But they sound quite cool but dunno if it's bad form to use them through an amp in the normal way or if you use the effects loop (in 30 years of playing I have never used an effects loop!

Anyone got an idea where I could get a stand for my moog minitaur or a bracket for a mic stand? Cant seem to find anything.

Pulled the trigger on a Zoom B3 for no apparent reason other than it was Thursday and Thomann just told me it's out of stock. Now trying to cancel it...... ruins the moment!

We'll visited the luthier and an excellent bloke he was. He thinks he can match the colour which is great news. But a quick question the bass currently has a blend control where the pick up switch used to be but I'm thinking of going back to the original configuration any thoughts?

[/quote] I can imagine a partial refin could be a pain and the rest of the bass is in quite good nick which makes it more annoying. I'm seeing a guy today who has been recommended. Ha ha the bloke also had a Wal defretted identical to mine in a funky red Wal case in his cupboard, he wasn't selling that tho. He was a guitar player.

Looks very nice that! I'm in two minds about a refin, the sanding annoys me. But refinishing the bass significantly adds to the cost.

I saw Jonas Reingold from the Flower Kings playing a BB3000 and ignore looked and sounded immense. I was reminded how much I liked the look of them.

String spacing is definitely on the narrow but I actually find it very comfortable.

Always liked the look of old Yamaha basses and saw a BB5000 for sale locally. It needs a bit of TLC and someone has inexplicably sanded off some of the finish. But I have to say I absolutely love this bass! It sounds fantastic, really huge. The weight is perfect for me, very lightweight. Not much online about them but any info would be appreciated!

Very nice that. Mine has a bit of the chrome flaking on the bridge. Some people call it mojo I call it a pain in the arse! But it plays brilliantly!

I've just recently bought a Yamaha bb5000 (today waahay) and was wondering if there was anyway of finding out the exact colour paint used, I know it's a longshot. I needs some refinishing the luthier says he can blend it if I can get the exact paint and I'd rather not get the whole bass refinished but will if I have to. Have to say it seems to be a great bass.

Got the last ones I'm afraid. But pickguard heaven in the states will do them and they are pretty reasonable . Bloke from Ernie Ball recommended them. Great about your bass, natural isn't it. My 77 is definitely not immaculate but it's still in good condition for a bass of that age.

No worries it was just so it looked okay with the age of the bass. I have a lot of scratch plates at the moment!

It's not from pickguard heaven was from another US company.

It's not a perfect fit on the neck for my bass unfortunately but it's a decent fit, it looks cool and it's been reliced. Drop me a pm if your interested.
