1. My Deep Iimpact is not working anymore For the past few weeks it has been playing up, sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. I tracked the issue down to the power input socket, it seemed like it was a bit loose and not working properly, with a bit of twiddling and a piece of paper card, I secured it, so it wasn't moving around, and it was working fine but today it has completely stopped working. Today the pedal won't power properly, if you move the power socket it will power but no way to make it work. It seems to me like the power socket needs replacing or soldering properly. Anyone else has had a similar problem? Who or where I could have the pedal checked? I'm not very handy and I rather not touch it myself.
 2. I have 5 basses on my studio wall, all of them with Hercules autoswivel & autograb hangers and I've never had a problem. They've been on for over two years now and they've had from 5 string basses to heavy 70s Fenders. My advice would be to check the screws now and then, of course, use the appropriate wall plugs too.
 3. Wow Jose, Mecano!...I can't even remember last time I listen to their music Lovely bass tone indeed
 4.
They are called short scale, but are 32".
Not long enough for my Fender Jazz
 5.
I purchased Set List Maker not long ago, thought I'd share my thoughts on the App. Unlike PauBass, I don't rate the App highly, here's why: Overall the App feels clunky and dated, it hasn't really moved on much I suspect and embraced what's happening in user interfaces these days. It relies on lots of drop down menus and fiddly data screens, which is fine on a desktop with a mouse but doesn't feel very nice on an iPad. Finding what you want can quickly become frustrating, screens are too many clicks away from where you are, nothing really flows. Then try navigating on the fly in the middle of a gig and it's not pretty. I've found the import options are hit and miss, for example, if you import your setlist as a Playlist from iTunes it omits some of the data fields, the lyrics being one of them! Extremely annoying when you've spent hours copy & pasting them in! Importing spreadsheets/CSVs also proved haphazard with data not appearing how it should, and then you get into the problem of trying to delete the damn thing. Key functionality in an App should be obvious to the user, not buried deep in screen hierarchy. And that brings me onto the Help function. Basically it takes you to a very outdated looking web page that immediately looks like a chore to read through. All the info is there but it's a bit like the App, hard to find what you're looking for. Setting up a set list is also frustrating, it should be easy and obvious how to split sets into two or three, it's not. And for an App that's called Set List Maker it should be!
We have different opinions then I find Set List Maker very easy to use, it might not be the most appealing interface but it's OK, in my opinion that is. I've had no trouble importing anything so far and using it live it's a joy. Create your setlist, click perform and away you go. You can jump to the next song manually, automatically when the song finishes or use one of those Bluetooth pedals to change pages. I have mine set up so when in perform mode, I have the list of songs for that gig, I click on the song once and it opens the score, when the song finishes, it closes the score and I'm back on the list of songs. Although the list of songs runs as it will be performed, I like to go back to the song list in case the singer decides to call a different song. I use mine for 3 different bands, and it's proven to be a very handy app.
 6. This week's songs: Play That Funky Music I Feel Good Celebration I Want You Back Don't Stop Beleiving
 7. I use Set List Maker and it works wonderfully, I highly recommend it. You can import the PDFs and attach them to each song.
 8.
ha ha ha .. I'm a moron! *nothing to see here* It does quite clearly say "patch select" .. not patch buttons!
If it makes you feel any better, you are not the only one ...I did exactly the same
 9. Have a look at JenArt Covers, I highly recommend them. See my post here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/235769-credit-where-its-due-jenart-design-cab-covers/

 12. If I were you I'd try loosening the neck screws a bit, no need to take the off, and reposition the neck so G and E string are equally aligned. Then play the bass and see how it feels, if it feels right that's it, problem solved...if it doesn't then contact the dealer. It could be the neck has moved in transit or it wasn't properly attached from factory. I have seen this issue on a few Fender, I have one that came like that, I did the mentioned procedure and it plays wonderfully.
 13.
If you are using the blend a bit then set the attack to have the shortest response(I'd assume it's high) and the release as long as possible. The dry blend will bring back the note dynamic and the wet will have the fattier and more sustained note. I use a much bigger parallel compression and have the comp set to be basically on all the time, squish the dynamics down a bit and bring the rest up. Not much point in having to mess with attack and release when you a blending dry back in.
Thanks for the advice. Yes, the control names are a bit confusing...I might send Xotic an email and ask them
hi paubass, I'm happy with these settings:
Thank you! Is the switch on the High setting?
 14. Only the Gigrig 14 left, no case. £400
 15. Nice bass tone! On the Root pedal, can you leave the lows clean and only distort highs?
 16.
I have one and it's a keeper, even if I hardly use it. works very well with very little to zero noise on bass and guitar and once you've found "your" setting with the pins it's difficult to get a bad compression out of it. THE feature is the parallel compresion blend which I usually leave on 40% wet to just fatten up my sound a bit without losing the original dynamics.
Just wondering what setting you are using on the internal switches. I'm getting a bit confused since the controls are labelled differently than other compressors, Low/High for the Attack and Long/Short for the Release Time. I'm want more of my natural note attack to go through so I can still have good articulation and dynamics. Any advice on settings to achieve it?
 17.
Bah! They only give the Super12 a 94% rating and the Midget T a 97% rating. Pathetic review. Completely fails to complain about finish, handles or feet. Doesn't mention how much better all the competition is. Manages to avoid using words like fanboi or cheerleader. Instead, they have the temerity to write a genuinely impartial review based on the quality of these bass cabs when used as bass cabs. Hopeless. Call that journalism?
+1 Wise words
 18. Well, I have owned many cabs in the past, different Bergantino's, Aguilar, Hartke, Ampeg, EBS, Ashdown, Fender.... I guess I'm not right and I don't have enough experience to say my Barefaced Super Twin it's an amazing cab.
 19. No surprise Alex is not posting here, It must be very tiring and boring hearing the same old, same old...On the other hand, I have been following threads on TalkBass about his cabs and I have yet to see what happens in here every time someone starts a Barefaced thread. It has been said so many times, if you don't like something, no need to go on about it, let other people be happy with their choice and move on...You don't see these situations with any other product. In my experience, I tried/tested a few of the Barefaced cabs, none of my band mates had heard about the brand, likewise they hadn't even heard about Bergantino, they were pleasantly surprised and they all loved the cabs...some of the cabs more than others, hence the different cab range.
 20.
I have no experience with the TH500 so I can't comment on that, Most of my bands are pretty controlled volume-wise, but I've done deps in loud bands with the Walkabout, and as long as I've brought enough cone area along (2 x Bergantino 2x10s at the time), it's never struggled. It's just given out an honest, fat, analogue punch with a proper backbone. Don't forget it's a conservative 300 watts - it's 340w into 4ohm. It'll also put 480w into 2ohm. That said, it you crave clean headroom, don't bother.
Thanks for the advice. Might not be enough for me as my cab is 4 ohm... The TH500 is loud little amp, it would be interesting to hear from someone that has used both.
 21.
Yeah. Once you've tried a Walkabout, the others feel a bit 'diet'.
I've always read really good things about these amps and many times I've thought about getting one but I'm worried those 300 watts are not enough, I play in rather loud band Any ideas on how it compares, volume and tone wise, to heads like the Aguilar TH500? I'd run this amp through a Barefaced Super Twin
