Amongst others... IIRC.
Unfortunately.

For those who missed out on this and other similar incidents, it goes like this: things were said; offence was taken; departure ensued. The details are not worth repeating, as it doesn't matter, the result stands.

To quote some other threads, you had to be there.

That sounds like a long-drawn out process, not to mention tricky! Good luck with it though. What's the model of that Gibson (or is it Epiphone?) that is a smaller bodied version of the 335? That would be pretty much the same then. I think it's a 339
It is both Gibson and Epiphone and it is the ES339. The Epi version has more models, one straight ahead (as is the Gibson version), one with coil taps (my guitarist has one of these, they're amazingly good and versatile) and one with piezo (I think I'm right in saying that there are 3 of them).

  3. If the guitar was sold direct to the U.S. there wouldn't have been any VAT duty paid, as it would've been for export and, therefore, exempt. However, if it was sold here and then exported 2nd hand, well it's a nice kerching for the Exchequer. To quote the Poldark novels, " 't ain't right, 't ain't fair, 't ain't proper!"

  4. Since buying my Rob Allen MB2, this really nice bass has taken a massive back seat (as you would expect - the MB2 is awesome). Having heard the MB2 on a live playback, there doesn't seem to be much point in keeping this. Now, as you probably know, the GWB35 only comes in 'Non More Black' which, frankly, is depressing to look at unless you're a death metal/doom rock player. So, not long after I bought it, I stripped it back to natural. This revealed some average looking basswood and a big knot (see pic below) which I sealed with Danish Oil and waxed (I also added extra copper foil shielding to the cavity). After a while, as I became bored with the look of the basswood, I covered the front with figured, stick on vinyl and then pin-striped it by hand. Sound tacky? Really not so much and people are often taken aback when I tell them how this was achieved (there is a thread somewhere with a couple of basses with this treatment). The beauty of this top is that it is completely reversible. There are a few other knocks, dings and sanding swirls, as basswood marks very easily and I've tried to show these in the pics.

Anyway, other than the finish, it has a phenolic 'board, Ibanez soapbar and 2 band active, ultra light tuners, etc, all details here http://www.ibanez.co...=151&color=CL01 and weighs in at a, back friendly, 8lbs. So to photos:

This is what it looks like, just stripped:

It currently has Elixir round wounds on it, but I'll also include a set of La Bella flat wounds. I'll throw in a gigbag too.

[s]£375[/s] £325 of your English Pounds will secure this great sounding (sooo much mwah!) and great playing beast (a steal for this level of instrument, but that's the going rate it would seem), collected from Ez Towers - no trades (sorry). I recommend collection due to the nature of the finish (best seen to be appreciated), that and I don't like to ship instruments with the usual parcel chuckers. Fill yer boots!

  5. Having recently bought a Ricky and being totally sold on it, this beauty is redundant and just hangs sadly on my wall. So, therefore, it is for sale. Figured poplar top, Norstrand big singles, 3 band active, gold hardware. All in all a great guitar and über light too (6.5lbs). It comes with the brilliant Premium case, which can just about be seen pictured here:

The figuring is very nice and plays down the 'bling' nature of the gold IMO (not a gold hardware lover myself, but on this, it works):

Little light buckle rash on the back (it is an oil or wax finish, so can mark easily):

There is a tiny ding on the front. Now it's not the mark close to the B string anchor (that's part of the natural finish) but the mark at about 8 o'clock:

These puppies are no longer available and were almost a grand new, but, sadly, Ibanezes don't hold their value at all well from new (pretty good from 2nd hand though) so I'm pricing this to go at [s]£650[/s] £600 collected from Ez Towers. Sorry no trades, unless you have a Gretsch 5420T.

  6. A friend of the band recorded this on his tablet at our gig on Saturday. It's us doing Babooshka and, given the kit it was recorded on, isn't too bad IMO. I apologise for my trousers and jacket in advance, but we are an 80s covers band. So, with further ado...
