I’m definitely interested in how the new pedal does the less dirty stuff.
This is exactly what I’m interested in. Unfortunately, all the demos seem to be just Geddy fests, without really investigating its other potential.

Didnt EVH give his kid the bass chair when the lad could hardly play the thing??
Yep, nepotism at its worst.

I’m a big 80s Rush fan, but as much as I’m intrigued by this pedal, I won’t be looking for Geddy’s tone, as something that suits me. It’ll certainly have to offer more than my VTDI for me to change (which, on paper at least, it seems to do).

I’ve previously stated my one album that is always there, but there are others that are on my very underpopulated iPhone or are listened to:
Ah Via Musicom - Eric Johnson
To The Bone - Steven Wilson
Continuum - John Mayer
Rush’s 1980s output
Us - Peter Gabriel

I have much respect for him. Not only as a player but as a human being. He was very shabbily treated by EVH in so many respects but never gets into any tit for tat slagging - I've watched interviews where he is being pushed for detail about how he felt about reading he'd been sacked etc but he steadfastly refuses to bite. EVH even went as far as saying that he sang MA's vocal part on the records and taught him how to play the bass - no reaction from MA.
A totally class act.

Peter Gabriel - So.

His work with Chickenfoot has him much higher in the mix and stretching out a bit more. He is a quality player and a good singer too.

First of all, give up? Noooo! Say it ain't so 😥 However, I'm sure you have your reasons (still sad though).
Secondly, these are great cabs that were born to be played live. The voicing sits really well in the mix, allowing you to be heard, without impinging on the sonic space of others in the band. GLWTS.

Ed Friedland giving one a go. $40 seems a lot.

That split coil sound is very pleasing indeed (the normal setting isn't bad either).

What a great album that is.

I just fitted some Ultralites to my Squier Jazz and used plumbers white tape to enlarge the bushing. Works a treat.
Good old PTFE. If you can't fix something with PTFE, duct tape, Araldite or WD40, it's probably very broken.

I could be totally wrong but there are different sizes with Hipshot tuners.are you sure you have right diameter HIpshot diameter.?
Yeah, @bubinga5 is right, they do 3/8" and 1/2" fittings. If they are the wrong size and you can't return them, you could try wrapping some masking tape around the bushing to make it fit snugly.
EDIT: You beat me to it.

Strap one on, you know you want to.

Kossoff, because of my age at the time and that he seemed to have got his life back on track. More recently, Bowie's death really rattled me when I found out and I'm not a massive fanboy or anything, I suppose it's because he had just always been there and it came seemingly out of the blue.

I find myself lagging with finger style due to the thick epididymis that has built up over the years
Why are you playing bass with your testicles? 😂

I would sometimes get a sore index, plucking finger even though I use alternate, two fingered plucking (I'm actually probably using my index finger more). However, since moving to EB cobalt flatwounds, this seems to be a thing of the past.

I hold my .73mm quite close to the edge (upside down-ish) so very little flex for me. However, I don't think it matters what you use as your brain should sort it out - eventually. Vive la difference!

Depends what you're hoping to achieve tonally. I like the look of the 2 p/up set up, but it's not my build.

Roscoe Beck with drummer Tom Brechtline In Robbin Ford’s Blue Line, they always seem to be able to find a different groove and riff for any song Ford wrote.
I just remembered these guys and rushed to post it, only to find that I have been beaten to it - which is a good thing as they deserve masses of recognition. I saw them with Robben Ford at the Jazz Café and they were sublime. Similarly, the also previously mentioned pairing of Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton are often overlooked.

Whoever bought the Hexabuzz that was for sale here recently has superb timing, as there may well be an element of 'pre-retirement' collectability in the offing.
