  4. A Google search I made in the wee small hours, a couple of nights ago, revealed that the Gator XL will fit a Mustang with a tiny bit of forming of the foam, it was a BC thread IIRC.

  7. The cynic in me thinks the reason Roger moved from Yoshi in Japan to, technically, a bass competitor is $$$$$$
  8. Using their logic, buying a guitar or bass is a complete lottery. As to hearing a more consistent tone from a particular wood in a band mix, I call snake oil.

  16. This is definitely a major consideration when starting out. You have to want to pick it up. So it has to feel good, sound good and look right, or it may just end up gathering dust.

  23. 'Tone is in the fingers', but you only have your fingers. Therefore, you need to use other methods to change your tone. For me, this would be: use different gauge picks; use different strings; change the pickups (the very things that change mechanical energy into electrical energy). The only time wood comes into it is when you're buying a new bass or ordering a custom build. My customs are both alder, as it's a nice weight, is reasonably priced and builders seem to like working with it.
  24. The Maruszczyk Medium/SS gig bag is a good fit lengthwise, an inch or so to the zip at the headstock, but a bit baggy at the sides. https://public-peace.de/accessories/gigbags-suitcases/bass-gigbags/electric-bass
