  1. Or black. Either way, that's a cool bass.
  2. Hey Stoopid - Alice Cooper
  3. Bat Out Of Hell, sooo long, overblown and awful guitar tone, I’m thankful for the skip function on Planet Rock*. Pretty much anything by The Doors and Kiss (see * above).
  4. What? No! The only problem with my gear is operator error and I’m not about to smack myself in the teeth.
  5. Thanks for clearing that up, I was wondering.
  6. This is where they score so well. I have a Telecaster (yes, a guitar, deal with it ) which used to be a CV, but now all that’s left is the neck, tuners and a few other bits and bobs. It has a different body and DiMarzio p/ups, but that neck is what makes me want to play it. This is why I want to try one of the current CV Ps (the black one with maple neck and block inlays), I’m hoping it’ll have that feel too and then it’ll also be customised within an inch of its being.
  7. For those who don’t remember the original Dymo labels that were referred to… No one would mistake these as manufacturer’s logos, it was done for a laugh.
  8. [cynical mode - on]Probably depends on if your selling it and how much you want for it. [cynical mode - off] I’d normally say 50 years+, but it seems ‘80s basses are regularly referred to as vintage, so perhaps 40 years+, which, according to the internet, is what antique dealers refer to as vintage too. However, they have an agenda (see cynical mode).
  9. I think I’m right in saying that it was nitrocellulose and, dependent on colour, by DuPont. Happy to be corrected by those with far more knowledge on this subject.
  10. The marvellous Jimmy Sims. Top player and a lovely bloke too.
  11. Shoot Shoot - UFO
  12. Firework - Katy Perry
  13. Not in Scotland - whisky.
  14. They hire vans quite a lot around these parts, which then tend to be white.
  15. Given the price of professional level, classical instruments, I imagine that GAS is something best avoided.
  16. Now this Jake doesn’t do the bulbous lower horn and pickguard the way others do. Nice.
  17. Happy to move away from the big F, but other than Maruszczyk, I’m not aware of anyone else. Happy to be educated 👍
  18. Bass Tetris surely?
  19. I like Maruszczyk basses (I have 2 Elwoods and have owned a Jake), but the lower horn and scratchplate aways look overly bulbous to me, if they sharpened those contours up, just a touch, it'd be a winner.
  20. I'd be all over a 32" P Bass, I reckon it would feel just right for me.
  21. Replicate this position with a strap, if possible. I certainly try to get my sitting and on the strap position as close as possible to each other. Conversely, play sitting down all the time perhaps?
  22. Definitely a case of, "Shut up! We know you can play," and I would've preferred to hear the lyrics. Top level playing, nonetheless.
  23. I'll race you there.
  24. For bass solo, see above, for bass led instrumental probably... Or possibly...
