    Line 6 HX One

It might be me! I already have a compressor, drive and pre-amp that I'm very happy with. I have an MS-60B for one-off modulation, and I was thinking about buying/building a loop switcher to toggle its position between the pre-amp's FX loop and in front of the pre-amp (e.g. for use as an envelope filter). The HX One looks like it will do all of that in one box. The HX Stomp and HX Effects do a lot more for double the price, but they'd make all my other pedals redundant... not sure I'm ready for that! If the HX One did, say 3 blocks instead of 1, it'd be absolutely killer... but it's not in Line 6's interests to provide too much functionality at the entry level.
  2. I see a headstock and I want to paint it black
  3. Great idea!

    Drop Pedal

Input impedance is 1MΩ when enabled, so you're not likely to have any issues there. It's true bypass when off, so I guess the question is whether there's a pedal further down the chain that needs a buffer in front?

    DIY Effects

Soooo, potentially a case of soldering a large (e.g. 1MΩ, 2.2MΩ) resistor between these two? 🤔 I appreciate that by saying this, I am literally That Guy the article mentions... 😆
  6. They didn't call it "Pianoeo"? The cowards!

Some good info on switch pop causes and solutions: https://www.mrblackpedals.com/blogs/straight-jive/6629778-what-really-causes-switch-pop
  8. 45 songs on the disc, and a bunch more as DLC (including all the missing ones from Rubber Soul). They didn't do all the songs... no-one needs stems of You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) 😆
  9. They'll have been taken from the video game The Beatles: Rock Band, so any isolation was done by Giles Martin from the original tapes - it's a lot cleaner than you'd get by sticking the full track through an "AI" stem separator.
  10. Versatile, sounds great, and a bargain price. GLWTS!
  11. Dunno - I'm just going by Amazon's price history. Maybe they've always been pricier there than elsewhere 🤷‍♂️ Source: https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B000B6IURS
  12. They've crept up to £26.95 now. I'm amazed they didn't leap straight back to ~£60 after us lot started buying them up.
  13. Those are some hairstyles 😆
  14. Single band parametric EQ? Sine Effect Electronics do a very space-efficient one
  15. Nice! 80% of the sound, 20% of the price.
  16. Yep, looks the same to me. The switch itself takes very little pressure to activate - I'm guessing they just went a bit too far in trying to making it hard to accidentally switch off while sweeping the pedal.
  17. My G1Xon and B1Xon have the same notch in the rubber pad - you have to really lean on the expression pedal to switch it on/off
  18. There just aren't that many "standard" sized pedals with a DI - pretty much every pre-amp+DI on the market is a big box. The best M81 alternative I can think of is a Broughton Audio Messenger Jr, but good luck finding one A couple of things to consider: - Have you got room for a micro DI box tucked under the board? Or could you sit the pre-amp pedal on top of a fairly flat DI box? The extra height might not be an issue if you're not switching it on and off all the time - Do you definitely need a pre-amp, i.e. something that boosts your signal from instrument level to line level so that it can drive a power amp? If you're just after clean EQ and you can squeeze in a separate DI box, there are all kinds of great options available to you.

  20. Yep - the nickels are listed as fairly normal tension, but the stainless steels are much higher (except for the G)
  21. Not cool for an originals band
  22. Still enjoying this pedal a lot! I've got it dialled in nicely now, and I'm using it weekly with IEMs for ampless rehearsals. Here's me attempting to remember a bassline that I learned about 25 years ago: Laney DB-PRE.mp3 PJ bass - P pickup only - tone rolled off a bit - plectrum Little bit of 4:1 compression in front from a Keeley Bassist DB-PRE settings: bass 7 - lo-mid 2 (switch down, so ~700Hz) - hi-mid 7 - tube channel - drive 6 And the bypassed signal, for comparison: DI.mp3
  23. I see these are the stock strings for Solar guitars & basses, so it's safe to assume they're good for metal 🤘 I'm curious about the Blacksmith stainless steel strings, as the listed tension for the E and B is unusually high for roundwounds at 55lbs - could be good for drop tuning. Not willing to risk the money on what's probably a misprint though!
  24. Nice! My Rumble has the same problem - I'm guessing that if surgical spirit worked, then meths will also do the trick Update: Works a treat! They don't need to soak for long
