  1. The Beyer- DI on the floor , What is that being used for?
  2. Repair due to "summit abit loose" ( power control ) Did a tighten up, changed two crackly pots (never noticed) and returned back a day later. Seemed happy it just needed a little TLC overall. I was expecting more or the charge but honestly thought I mis heard him on the phone at first. I only noticed the rattle when using it loud, move it off an amp and it was fine. Bet way to describe was a metal grill being vibrated. What you get when ordering from Ebay. the seller would of known this was a issue unless it was kicked down a flight of stairs. I've been stung twice in the past by this when buying now. Some good some bad experiences, but it is what happens. Along time ago there was a Marshal set up I was interested in and the guy kept talking to me when I was trying to test it out, to hide a speaker mount that had failed. Another time when I sold a old 1x15 cab for the soldering mounts on the tweeter to fail when I had put it in the car on the way to the buyers house so he could try it out and I noticed something wasn't right. Felt a right plum... took the back off, found the fault and knocked off cash for him on the spot. Marshal build quality was fantastic that the weight of two wires could simply strip the solder & break the joints if tilted. I won't mentioned my 900 quid new charvel, I've got to now re do the shielding in copper as it was okay but has got worse. or my pedals are slowly starting to fail ( Boss NS-2 gone ). Why do we this music thing again?....
  3. Tight! My ABM is still wrapped up in bubble wrap from the return as I strained my forearm & then got Covid. Livid

  5. My little brother is driving up from Centre London at the weekend up to Newcastle. Not sure if that is too far out the way from the source of the item however to start the journey
  6. Cracking service by Ashdown, Arrived yesterday mid day, completed today and just got a call back from Dave to sort out payments from the work that was ridiculously cheap and will be back with me by Friday x2 Pots, Power amp section & new fans with the control board tightened up. What a company.
  7. Used the M20X - M40x and M50X . Small fitting on the head so prolong used or while wearing specs is abit of a " headache " after a while. I personally use the M40x ATM (xmas present) in the house , and the 50's for mixing and everything else. I've used the 20x which are just a cheap okay back up at the Studio incase someone needs. Good for the money but when you taste something other than Carling or Fosters beer - Do you ever go back? Should I buy some Beyer's? oh no.... Probs yes! A review - The 50X's are the midrange flat kings, DT770's / 880's are Studio/HI-Fi closed backs and are more "lower" end heavy ( not for mixing ) IMO. Perhaps the DT990 open backs would be the choice, also they are like having two sheep on your head due to the comfort . Beyer's come in different OHM ratings depending on your source. The 250's are usually the sweetspot. Available for £149. For pure overall quality Sennheiser upper range are the kings, You can hear a mouse fart in them they are that good. HD600's are £279. They look cheap and feel abit like an IT call centre but man they know how to tune them good. But Q: Are they worth that extra £130?..... The DT990's start to look more appealing. Or.... some AKG K701 If there is anywhere to try them out before ( price match? ) worth a punt . I would lend my 40's so you can try if you are up in the NE?
  8. Second hand purchase , got the ones for my pedals & TV.
  9. ABM packed up finally and off for a service, all hail the old printer box!
  10. Why if it gets too much , it should really go into a switching board
  11. Very nice very nice. Any chance of breakdown of what you use on the HX Stomp? been eyeing one up for a small while and had a play on a Helix rack last night.
  12. Hardly notice the bass when she is on screen 😛 Phoowwwaarrr
  13. Info Sheet The VT Bass 500 is a 500-Watt bass amp head with an all-analog SansAmp™ pre-amp and Class D power amp. Total minimum impedance: 4Ω. 500W RMS @ 4Ω; 300W RMS @ 8Ω. Comes with official rack mount ears ( rare! ) The Amp was used with a power conditioner and mounted in a hard case. This was primarily a backup unit to my SVT / DI sessions and is surplus to requirements. I either D.I from my board or use the ABM now. Been cared for and looked after. Good little amp IMO with a lot of features and flexibility. Can be collected or posted in the UK with buyers preferred choice, Original packaging missing but will be padded out.
  14. I did the same in more stores and bought a Charvel instead . ( Fender mex made ) and was wayyyyy much nicer than anything of their current stock. Everything of Fender's pro or player line as I tried it out for hours felt like plastic. Nothing to write home about & IMO, overpriced firewood. For me, A Fender Mexican body but with a Squire neck would of been the ideal set up. There was such a drastic change between each unit on offer as well. Build, wood, paint, set up, fret quality and so forth. But the Charvel Pro-D does have some gremlins. Pre-Amp is dog poo (changed it already ) and the shielding (non existent) / jack port had a nice whoopsy in during manufactory where the wood had been half removed and hidden. Body and neck were "kiss" in comparison. And that was £830 with a soft hard case thing from GAK.
  15. Free stickers! Gone are those days!
  16. Get some fine wine and candles ready for when you use it
  17. Neighbours have fked off for a while, sun is shining into the office and my ABM polished metal front just glistened to me as I catch it with the corner of my eye. "later" I whisper....
  18. I payed £331 with Postage. Drive channel is clean. Handle had a small chew in it & tolex was fine. Just a de dust & some polish on the front for that shine. Only issue was a internal rattle I'm sorting out ( no biggy ) Still sending it for a once over to Ashdown once I remember, as I write this to stop throwing out cardboard fking boxes!!!
  19. Manson Guitar works would be a choice to take over thinking of companies that could afford it
  20. Lend a bass to a scouse? having a laugh arn't you I'm too north sorry mate. PMT Liverpool you could buy from and collect if that is near by. Aload of 5 Strings from £244 & Amps for £83 or Gumtree local adds.
  21. Any idea what the fan's are/look like? - My mind is going down a re-bladed design? Still need to send mine down to Ashdown for a service, why oh why did I throw the bloody box away it came in...
  22. Update The Jack port housing inside has cosmetic damage from Fender , which was hidden. by the fitting plate on the inside. Looks like it was semi chipped when being built & hidden with the stinky poo shielding. Epoxy & a screw time will resolve, I ain't sending another back.
