  1. Fond tale from my Uncle Tom playing guitar after a gig/practise that has came to mind. Proceeded to leave the Venue after a Gig/Practise by an upper outside door with a metal set of stairs to the carpark below, as he was walking out with one hand on his pride and joy of a valve guitar amp, The strap on the top snapped and the guitar amp when bouncing down each stair well. Naturally the rest of the band who were his brothers could do nothing but snigger at his unfortunate. Upon retrieving his battered amp at the bottom of the stair well, Tom went to place it in the back of his car which as many will know anything made in 1970's Britain at the time was mostly rust, and when he closed the lid of the boot with all his gear in, the floor gave way.
  2. Loads of Ibanez basses for sale mate
  3. I record with one ear out of the sound so I can hear the natural sound of the strings, the other is a pre click and just feeling comfy and not stressed on the take. Take the the time to warm up, have some test tracks with a click on that you can noodle about to get your ear/hand/head in the right frame of mind. Something about the record button really does annoy me, and then you end up either playing un-natural or super-natural and do stuff you wouldn't normally do so it feels like wearing someone else's underwear for the lack of a better term. The only thing to remember is you can't get any worse! - I do think any latency can be a pain so I play one out of ear, tap the foot if you have to! and just pretend its a jam or change your mix so you can hear kick/snare/click more pronounced if that works for you. I'm currently doing Lamb of God - Laid to Rest for YT and it was a utter utter P.I.T.A
  4. Try buying a house! 50-80k what they were only 2 years ago and double the interest rates.
  5. Christ I spent ages thinking IR? or LR? and even a google scan of the image brought nothing back. Cheers
  6. Anyone know what Brand this is? Got a bass bag but this is the only thing that would identify it.
  7. Sanity check - Musicman "sub" tuners, will any direct replacement be a fit for the string peg hole? I.E Wilkinson WJBL200

Not so sure about the Wilkinson tuners as they have a rather large mounting plate and the headstock is quite petite. The G tuner might bugger you up due to the way it sits, maybe.

The own brand one`s that Northwest Guitars sell are decent tuners and come in a choice of colours and r/h, l/h.

I'd be checking the location of the screw holes on the base plate too, rather than turning the headstock into Swiss cheese...

  8. Had a think over lunch , Behringer do a Live mixer audio interface esk model where you can control your mix from your phone to your output, so for example if you wanted more drums.. you could adjust on the fly that in etc. You can have anything from a DI into it and then control what you want to hear from your IEM's and 99% sure you save these settings ( makes sense to ) for the mix out. Used one many moons ago but did the job enough.

  10. Hi David The only settings this would save would be the input gain, and volume out? - I think you're after either a compressor/Pre-amp instead from what I can gather or Something like a Line 6 Helix which can be used in the same manner. So the chain could be "Bass > Pre-Amp ( Sansamp?) > Audio interface > Out or "Bass > Split A/B > A to Preamp > A to Audio interface B to Audio Interface
  11. chucked my 115-300 up for sale , just to inform anyone following here
  12. Ashdown ABM 115 300. Home / Studio use. Some light usage marks from photos (please ask for more if required happy to supply). It was bought to compliment my ABM head unit when the 4x10 was too much to wheel about. And now I've been using IEM's for the most part it's been collecting dust. Open to Swaps for a small house practise amp/money one way with trade.

  14. I only use Post Amp for "active" if the sound drops or battery goes its not as bad as having your trousers dropped on stage for everyone to see. Just to add what ever flavour of the evening, but mostly run it flat so its only a 10%? sound difference i.e on my Glock post amp. The warwick's Either I want to increase the low end for personal preference but this is usually set to normal or if its a slappy bit can slam the treble up for extra zing. Many ways to do stuff I guess
  15. Stock mate . These companies have to BID for Stock from the seller and some have sponsorship. So GuitarGuitar etc usually get first pickings and then the rest come down the chain. TBH the proof was in the shops that had B-Stock stuff or what seemed like 2nd hand as new... I spent a while with a large wedge burning in my pocket to buy something and exhausted everything locally. ( Source : Mate who works at Windows RG Newcastle ) Fender also laid off alot of workers. I had to travel to York to try some kit out at Gear for Music and then I bought from GAK due to it coming with a free gig bag so I'm not really helping. It's hard to really try anything up north. Musicman's are like hens teeth and the 2nd hand market is terrible atm.
