  1. Right, you DoI lot. Stop invading perfectly innocent build threads and sulk off back to your own madhouse.
  2. Surprise, fear, and trombones full of pizza.
  3. Take a corner too fast in a Meat Feast and it will roll….
  4. No, no. No no no. The DoI would insist that Pizza was invented well before trombones and thus the real question is “how many pieces of pizza can play the trombone?”
  5. I find TI Jazz flats very even - see above on Shuker Fretless. They are still on, and staying on!
  6. I need to order some more bits as well. I need a set of black 1/2” Hipshot Ultralites, a BBOT black bridge, and then sundries - string tee, strap buttons, pots and wire.
  7. I think one more coat of oil and then leave it to properly harden followed by a cotton cloth rubbing to settle on a soft smooth sheen.
  8. Caved in and ordered the Crimson Oil. Minor hold period whilst I wait for it to arrive. Neck is looking nice tho - it’s had quite a few coats of Danish Oil now and it’s getting close…
  9. Isn't that the funny clay stuff you stick in the oven to harden?
  10. No, I'd not heard of it either. I do feel now that it's gone that I've missed out. If it still existed I doubt I'd go anywhere near it tho. Probably cos I wouldn't know about it, whereas now it's gone, I do. Ironic.
  11. Shows how much I know. I came here for discussion of a Tennis Player...
  12. Well, it feels like a satin finish would suit this colour better than gloss. So I’m considering a good old Danish oil finish. Can’t quite make my mind up tho and might still try the Crimson high build oil.
  13. Yes, I’m quite liking it. It’s about the right balance of teal now, and there’s plenty of contrasting blue and green areas. It’s quite shimmery when wet, so I reckon the finishing oil will bring that out nicely. Will be interesting to see how it looks with some oil on.
  14. A couple of green coats, and wetted to bring out the colours - with cream fittings….
  15. Have applied a couple more coats of green. It’s close now. Need to order some finishing oil and then we can move on to assembly…
  16. Some sanding later and wetting to show the colours as they would be with oil/finish applied… I think a few more coats of green..
  17. So, situation this morning before any work:
  18. Plus, the Blue seems to do a good job of darkening the grain quite a bit anyway…
  19. No, I decided against it, as the black experiment showed a lot of contrast, and I preferred the straight blue then green..
  20. Well, I’ve now given it a sanding down to 1200 grit, and another coat of Blue. Its drying, and if I can get a half decent shot tonight then I will do
  21. To be fair I was surprised this thread wasn’t in the classifieds…
  22. What? The new basses? This does not surprise me.
  23. First sanding down done - 120 grit wet and dry. Here it is damped to remove dust and check evenness…
  24. Private Eye quotes now, huh? 😃
