  1. He's actually a genius!
  2. "pro set up"???
  3. It's Squier, Squier!
  4. It's spreading - AI is taking over the world! This just appeared on Facebook.
  5. Yes - I think it belonged to Andy Partridge. Jimmy Bain also used one in Dio.
  6. No - every customisation is an improvement to poor designs by the manufacturer.
  7. They are tat, but good fun. My Kay-20B-4000 project just needs a pickguard and the electrics doing.
  8. There are fans of his tuners.
  9. Oh, I haven't got to the end! 🙂
  10. "Rare" doesn't necessarily mean valuable.
  11. Yep - I think I've managed to work it out! TBH I've not played along to it at all, but there might be a 4th chord in there for the chorus!
  12. I'm due to have a get-together with some pals for a jam. The last one we did Carry On Wayward Son, Jailbreak, Born To Be Wild, and one or two others; we were supposed to do Money, but nobody else learned it! Upcoming are: Get Back, Come Together, Purple Haze, Badge, Sunshine Of Your Love, Let's Dance, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Teenage Kicks, and a few more; there's quite a few styles to be covered there, which is quite fun.
  13. I bought one new back in the 80s, because I couldn't afford a real Status. I got a real one in the 90s and it was in a totally different league to the Washburn. I sold the Washburn. The (asking) prices of the copies now are ridiculous and £1k is double what would be a lot. I've still got the Status. (But Status prices have gone up a lot too.)
  14. I saw a Steve Hackett's "Genesis Revisited" gig a few years back and it was rather good; it wasn't purporting to be Genesis though. I saw Deep Purple, but Ian Paice is the only original member - they were good (and Europe were the support, so that was a bonus). Journey with the alternative singer were pretty awful though.
  15. Guy Pratt & Gary Kemp do the Rockonteurs YT channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz902KiwFM9FthzFVd-WUlQ
  16. I haven't sold anything on ebay for some years now but occasionally buy. They started upping their T&Cs, enforcing their own finance option, restricting allowed items, and finding nothing wrong with obviously counterfeit items. TBH I couldn't be doing with the hassle selling, and buying ain't what it used to be. It's offputting when a company takes it upon itself to start dictating to its customer base.
  17. The older pedals themselves are plastic copies of Boss, but the internals of both are cheap components. I've got a Behringer Model D and an El Toro; they are both very good. I go with the cheap but not nasty opinion.
  18. Not quite so numptyish, as TE used to use XLRs for speakers. Also, some cabs have combo Speakon/jack sockets; my Markbass ones do.
  19. Interestingly, I did that yesterday too!
  20. That is a Speakon, not XLR, right? A few years back I went to a (now defunct) Maplins and asked if they had any Speakon connectors: the assistant gave me a quizzical look told me he could show me where the "speaker" cables were and took me across, where I picked a Speakon off the display.
  21. I don't think it's that Ric-like. It could be fun to play one!
