I find an impending gig really focuses the mind. What drives me nuts is when a guitarist start widdling a tune that’s not on the set list and other band members join in 10 minutes wasted before you know it.

I think they forget the point of the review (i.e. what it is they're trying to show you) and start showing you their chops. Some are just adverts basically and don't give you any negatives about what they're trying to review, so its impossible to make an informed choice.

Why do people play so many youtubers play so many harmonics when reviewing fretless basses?. Is it a law ow something?

I really like my barefaced 2 x 10. Had a few quality niggles with it though. The staff there are great and it was sorted with no issues.

I meant SPL rating . I have a 100w tube head . Sometimes bass cabinets have poor sensitivity and require a higher powered amp to be loud enough

Was looking at the 2x10 1210l 700w ! . Was hoping to use it with another 4ohm can using the 2 ohm tap on my amp...are they sensitive?

I Cant understand why these arent readily available by multiple suppliers.

I had my Ashdown CTM-100w amp up on an Irish version of Gumtree (Adverts.ie) for about a week for €700. Took it down because: 1. The only comms I was getting was for trade ins. 2. Although it was 1/2 price I knew Id have to haggle even more and probably lose another €100 on it. 3. Id probably be coerced into a semi delivery. 4. Id probably be persuaded into a trace in for another Item I didn't really want (but convinced myself that I did) 5. I realized it was a cool amp and I really didn't want to sell it 😂. I was surprised I didn't get more interest in it though it was virtually 1/2 price....some people just cant see a bargain when they see it. 🤔

Too many people watching wheeler dealers

I know, I remember selling a great 1 * 15 cab for WAY less than it was worth. On top of that I had to drive out of my way to deliver it. I felt like a right eejit. On another occasion I half offered to drive an amp to Dublin (on a pick up only advert) I changed my mind when a work colleague offered to take it off my hands. I know its not the done thing but I welshed on the deal .. I got a load of shitty feedback on my profile. Oh well.

The site I’m using in Ireland adverts.ie is similar to gumtree and people in it are infuriating! It’s like they just want you to give them your valuable item for unwanted junk they have lying around. Very few seem to understand the concept ‘no trades’ , ‘pick up only’ .

Anyone know anything about these basses? I think they’re made in either Korea or Indonesia. They look great

At least with eBay you have to put your money where your mouth is , no messing around or you’ll just lose the item .

The hassle of selling items you bought on a whim for half what you paid for it has really made me think twice about GAS. At present I think I’m approaching ‘just enough’ gear . Everything I have gets used (more or less) and I’ve only 1-2 white elephants left. The internet is literally infested with unused gear for sale.

I haven’t used eBay in a long time but I might return to it. So sick of the lowball offers, trade offers and requests for driving half way across the country even though your advert read ‘pick up only’. basschat is one of the better sites .
