  1. Purchased this for my P Bass project and ended up upgrading to an American Original neck I found for a deal. Missing a couple of tuner screws (one broke off). There's one small ding on the side...hard to photograph. Frets are perfect. Truss rod works as it whould. Will include the original Fender box for shipping. FYI, I have a beater P bass body for sale as well if you wanted to purchase both and build up a quality BITSA bass. Not sure whats up with 4.2MB file size for photos??? My photos are 4.8MB, DM me and I'll send you photos. Shipping UK £10.00 20230330_160951.heic 20230330_160944.heic 20230330_160939.heic
  2. That's a stonkin' deal on a great bass. Wish I was driving through Croydon sometime soon!
  3. Howdy, don't suppose you're ever up the coast in Hampshire by any chance? Interested in some of your gear. Thanks, Gunnar
  4. Purchased this neck here on Basschat. It's a 3 Bolt USA Fender '75 reissue neck that dates from 2007. Wonderful neck and has the fuller front to back feel that my original '70s jazz bass had. The body is American alder that I purchased unfinished and sprayed with a few light coats of cherry nitro paint from NW guitars. Not a perfect spray job and it has plenty of scuffs and will continue to wear nicely for a natural relic'd look. It's drilled for a 4 bolt neck pattern but I modified it for the 3 bolt micro tilt neck plate, so it's period correct for mid '70s. Note in photos, there's a nibble of wood taken out of the bridge pick up cavity (happened when I was drilling out the cabling hole for electronics). The frets show plenty of wear, but are nice and beefy and I have zero issues with the fretwear using the Fender flatwounds (that will come with the bass). Pickups and electrnics are EMG JHZ set that offer a vintage sound...with a modern feel. Here's the write up: The JHZ Set offers passive bass tone and feel with the reliability and frequency range known to EMG. Our design uses stacked coils with ceramic and steel bar magnets for a traditional jazz bass sound with increased output, and low noise. The result is a tone that has tight mid-range punch, smooth high end, and a classic passive dynamic response. Whether you play fretted or fretless bass, live or in the studio, you'll get an incredibly full sound. Also included are a set of Classic 60's Pick Ups, classic wiring harness and black scratch plate. Weight is 9.3 pounds Happy to ship the bass within UK or meet up within reason of Lymington (South Coast) or I'm in London weekly if you're near the Big Smoke.

  7. Purchased this here on Basschat a few months ago. It was well loved and used on tour and hence showed signs of wear (it was originally copper penny). It was a perfect candidate for one of custom sunburst paint jobs. Before painting I moved the jack to the control plate and routed the body to accommodate the moved volume control. Not the most elegant paint job, but it's perfect for a players bass. Weighs in at 3.65kg (8.07lbs) and strung with d'Addario Chrome flatwounds. Edit: I also found a gig bag I can ship it in Well boxed as well of course! This bass already looks well aged and will continue to mellow nicely with the thin nitro paint. The EMG GZR pick ups are fabulous. They make this bass shine. The original harness and pickups will be included. Happy to ship the bass, but often travel between London and the South Coast. Playing the Half Moon Putney this weekend if anyone wants free entry and do the bass deal there! Or, for another £75I can include a SKB bass safe to ship it in.
  8. If anyone buys this, lovely bass I'll gladly buy the busted neck.....will make the sale more of a deal!
  9. Sold....pending. will know this Friday, but can let you know if it falls through👍
  10. Impulse purchase 6 weeks ago at Andertons. Went in for the P5 active but fell in love with the roasted maple on this neck. Realized I really would like to have the P5 active, so off this goes to a good home. It's been used for about an hour, so as new with stickers and hang tags never removed. Original strings (which are quite nice d'Addario strings), pickup cover and tools. Happy to post within UK or maybe can meet West London or on the coast between Lymington and London? Weight: 8.8 lbs. Here is the description and specs: New features The two main focuses of version 2 have been on improving the bass tone and the feel of the neck. Marcus Miller worked alongside Sire to redesign the pickups with stronger magnets and coils. They deliver even more clarity and dish out a deeper quality tone than before. A matte finish replaces the sticky gloss coat for a much smoother feel. The neck radius has also been flattened to a much more contemporary 9.5 inches. Alder body models also boast a sleek new roasted maple fretboard in place of rosewood. Construction Sire specialise in roasted maple necks. This advanced baking process rids the wood of imperfections and leaves it with a much darker, luxurious tint. The rolled edge fretboards also come as standard and give the V5 the touch of a high-end instrument. Sound J-style basses are ultra flexible in their usage and the V5 is no exception. Its Marcus Vintage-J Revolution set produces incredibly pronounced tones great for both fingerpicking and slapping. Legendary player Marcus Miller knows more than most about what makes a great bass tone, so you can trust his judgement here! 11. American Pro....not American Performer Specifications Neck: Maple, Modern “C” Neck Finish: Satin Polyurethane. Fingerboard: Maple, 9.5” (241 mm) Frets: 20, Jumbo. Position Inlays: Black Dots. Nut (Material/Width): Synthetic Bone, 1.625” (41.3 mm) Tuning Machines: Fender® “F” Light-Weight Vintage-Paddle Keys with Tapered Shafts. Scale Length: 34” (864 mm) Pretty much the best thing about the American Pro P bass in my opinion, hence why I built a bass around it. Lovely neck to play and vet stable.
  12. if @karlfer doesn't take it, count me in. i drive past Woking every week, so could do local pick up.
  13. Great bass! I gigged mine for a year until I went with P basses, but would happily go back to Betsy in the future.
  14. Neck is American Pro I. I'll adjust that in the listing....thanks for the heads up. It's strung with d'Addario Chrome flats and the silks are always really long on them so I spaced the E string out with a spacer to keep the silks off the saddle.
  15. Built this up when I was on my P bass quest and it barely missed out on my number one spot for my go to P bass. I've gone with my Am. Perf. PJ as a slightly more versatile bass, but this P bass oozes vintage yet with a modern flair with the 2021 American Pro (Version I) neck that gets you carbon reinforcement rods, rolled fretboard edges and the new tapered shaft tuners. It's got that Pino Palladino vibe in loads....at a fraction of the price. The body is form NW guitars (American Alder) and is painted with 2 light coats of NW guitar fiesta red nitro over a nitro white primer. Although currently pristine, this bass will certainly "mojify" with use as the instruments of old have since it's done with a light nitro spray. The neck also received a vintage amber nitro coat. One thing to mention is that when I used the dremel to notch out the body and scratch plate for the truss rod tool access, I slightly missed the alignment, so it's slightly off center, only noticable if you really look closely and does not affect using a truss rod tool. And, by the way, I can include an original Fender truss rod tool with the bass. Weighs in at 4.02 kg (8.86ibs.) It's wired with a custom harness to these specs: Matched CTS USA Custom Audio Taper 250K Split Shaft Volume & Tone Potentiometers - smooth linear volume and tone change (no bunching or on/off effect) 0.022uF Sprague "Orange Drop" Tone Capacitor - removes the thinness and harshness inherent with budget capacitors Quality Jack Socket And the pick ups are '63 Fender Pure Vintage. The bridge is from an American Performer and the cavities are shielded. Strung with d'Addario Chrome flats. I use a spacer usually with Chromes as the silks are longer than other strings, hence why on the E string you see a spacer....it's to keep the silk off the saddle. All my d'Addario equipped basses have these spacers. Happy to meet near the coast (Lymington) or London area. Happy to ship within the UK as well.
  16. Looks good! I'll take it if still available? Banks deets and I can send your way.... G
