  1. A lot of poverty is hidden, too. Poverty is vulnerability, isn't it? Unless there's a collective acknowledgement that we live in an incredibly unfair society, we can't move on. (This happened at the end of the Victorian period and post both world wars). Since then, all Governments have effectively spent their terms taking things away from us while telling us they had no choice doing so.
  2. You're absolutely bonkers. Here are some stats: https://www.jrf.org.uk/uk-poverty-2025-the-essential-guide-to-understanding-poverty-in-the-uk#:~:text=More than 1 in 5,adult poverty stayed the same. I'm just prepping for a board meeting at Citizens Advice and the stories of poverty we hear from the staff and volunteers are truly heartbreaking. I appreciate you like to act as an antagonist, but come on.
  3. Don’t believe loads of people are poor? Crikey.
  4. Nobody has come to any of my gigs since 2005, so I can't blame the current financial malaise for that. My problem isn't a lack of social interaction, it's having too much to do and not enough time. That's a conscious decision on my part to invest in friendships and do voluntary work.
  5. I think this is a generational thing. I’m currently doing a course at college where the average age is late 20s. I bring in my lunch and a flask of coffee whereas they all buy theirs and have multiple paid for drinks. Over the course of 17 weeks I reckon I’ll be £150 better off.
  6. Work well, sound good but ultimately replaced with a set of Seymour Duncan QPs. price of £15 includes delivery and screws
  7. It’s because we’re spoonfed lies by people who seem to know no better.
  8. Not as if he has a vested interest in treat in it or anything… AI has huge potential but the payoffs have yet to come.
  9. Currently have: Rush book Victor Wooten Buena Vista Theory books any interest?
  10. Now have all the packaging stuff for delivery if that’s the way you want to go.
  11. This is a great deal https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1474371460311889/?ref=search (1980s BB1100s & Hiscox case for £495)
  12. The quality of these basses is incredible.
  13. I’ve recently built up a bitsa Precision which does everything I need and so I don’t need to keep this one. Its a late 90s, fully original Yamaha BBN4 with the Stingray-style 3x1 tuners. I believe Yamaha has never made a bad bass and this continues to support my theory. It’s just fantastic. Sounds great, built like a tank and looks the business (to me at least). This has been played a lot and there are marks on the wood. The frets are worn (you can see marks on them in the pictures) but could be dressed easily enough. Thats factored into the price. It’ll have a good set of rounds on it when shipped. Think £135 is reasonable but I’ll let you be the judge.
  14. I’m now using the tuner. Can sell the others for £25z lets of fun to be had for little outlay.
  15. Now £125 (or less if you collect it)
  16. These look ace. Assume a typo on this one: Darkglass Hyper Luminal Compressor
  17. The economic arguments for this stuff are quite persuasive, but they’ll never get a look in from a large proportion of the public.
  18. “I want AI to do the dishes and the washing and leave me to do the creative stuff, not the other way round…”
  19. Hi Freddy, it's wine red. Lovely, rich colour. The bass is currently in storage (safely in my loft), but it's light, sub 4kg.
  20. I think that’s the point. Mick may need to postpone his tour dates for the next few months (hopefully years).
  21. Offers? I’m never going to use it and it seems a shame for it being here unused.
  22. Real Book and Pettiford book still available. Wpuld £30 delivered for both work?
  23. I’ve just completed this Basschat parts build and it’s beautiful.
  24. I think this distills it really well. It's also why I prefer (when possible) to meet people and hand over or collect basses in person. The last bass I sold (pre-EB Stingary) we met up and had a lovely coffee and a fantastic chat in the sun.
  25. Again, what you're doing is taking something unplayable and making it playable. Your time and the skill to fix it have value, so that's not necessarily the same thing. It means someone can now enjoy the instrument. I've heard that lots of shops buy stock online.
