2.
Mmmm Bolin
Whoa - Greenage!
3. I've owned SR5s and Laks. FOR ME (YMMV) the B on the Laks were way better than the SR5s.
4.
PM'd you'll be next in line if things dont go through with owen
Like THAT is going to happen! My OCD checking the for sale lists pays off again!
5.
Hi folks, On Pino Palladino's landmark bassline on Paul Young's track Wherever I Lay My Hat does anyone know whether he used Flats on his Musicman or Roundwounds? I think his sound, and of course his playing is so damn good. Cheers Nick
Prob rounds. Some early Pino here www.myspace.com/pinopalladino
6. I have a standard BDDI. It is used but not abused. A bit worn on the front edge where your foot would brush, I can send pics. PM me an email address. Let's do this thing!
7.
Sorry LS-2 is sold pending the usual. All others still up for grabs!
Guessed as much, but you never know until you ask!
8.
Due to internet troubles and moving around all of these are still for sale. Waiting for replies regarding Zoom and Morley. Let me know!
If (as your post suggests) the LS2 is still there I will have it. Ta
9. He had a Spector. I now have it. Just fabulous.
10. Just fabulous. His Demeter pre is now mine.
11. He did not sell me anything. I did not buy anything from him. He made me buy a Berg IP112. He is dangerous,
12. You might want to edit the title to Musicmaster!
13. As new, bought to be used alongside an electronic kit in church, but the voicing does not blend. I need something more like an A custom or a Sabian AAX (so I'm told!). Either a trade + £ or yours for £110 + P&P.
14.
The D'Addarios are EXL220's and are unused, they're for a long scale bass, my bass needs an extra long scale set, the gauges are 120, 095, 075, 060, 040 - £10 including postage. Elixirs - I have 10 of these strings, I was experimenting with the gauges, these have been fitted but not played, I didn't like them, they were on my Modulus so they should fit most basses, if you PM me I'll let you have the length of string. The gauges are as follows - 130, 125, 125, 100, 095, 080, 075, 065, 040, 032 - £25 including postage for the lot. Status hotwire half wounds - Again these have been fitted but only for about 10 minutes, the gauges are 125, 100, 080, 060, 040, 030 - £10 including postage.
I will take the Elxirs. PM me your PP and I will do the biz Ta, like.
15.
Thanks for your helpful reply Chris. I fitted a FS yesterday, threads down, and it sounded great straight out of the box. Then it packed up! So I won't be taking it to the gig tomorrow, which I was looking forward to doing. I've always used an Underwood and could never get on with a Realist. I hope I won't have too much of a hassle getting a replacement and then hopefully I can continue to enjoy the FS experience. Hope you sell your bass soon; it sounds a nice instrument. Roger
I use a Full Circle and due to being a complete wally managed to pull the cable away from the pick. Fishman very obligingly fixed it. Phew. I like them as well. I will shortly be trying an Audio Technica ATM350 because one is about to cross my path. Some say that if you put your pick up through your amp, but 350 through the F.O.H. then you get FAB tone for the punters and no feedback.
16. To fly - SKB basssafe (sp?)
17. Meshell used my Eden 410XLT as backline in the UK before I bought it. Obviously I was 17x funkier with it than I was with my Peavey before it.
18.
I have just got back as well. Great afternoon and a big thanks to the organisers. Just when I thought I was gas free.......
HA! You think YOU have problems! Do you have any idea what you did to me? Huh?! Huh?! It was a lot of fun, and free food. Does it get any better?

20. Nick, Your avatar totally rules!
21. Discussed this with a fellow bassist in church who has the whole 9 yards shielding done and his bass is now immune to the induction loop. Looks like a trip to the garden centre to buy some slug repellant adhesive copper tape
22. It is not an issue in my nicer/passive basses (Bolin NS5/Jazz) and has not been in other more high end stuff. However in my cheap and cheerful collection that I have "enhanced" using EMG or Duncan pick ups and various pre-amps I get this whining. I can minimise it by angling my body in a certain direction, but ultimately that is not realistic - I just want them to work! The loop is buried in the floor. It would be cheaper for me to go out and buy a US Lakland JO5 - and THAT'S not going to happen (more's the pity).
23. My Church has an induction loop fitted. Some of my basses whine - depending on which angle I am in relation to the loop. I am presuming that I have a tedious shielding-fest ahead of me, or is it grounding or what? TIA
24. Not sure if I'm missing something from the main thread, but just for clarity I thought that I'd set up a lifts thread. I will be driving down the A55/M56/M6 type of corridor. If anyone wants to reduce the old carbon footprint then give me a shout.
25.
P.S. Owen, if that was you, thanks man. I don't remember the name of the band, but they had a sax player called Mad Mick. Classic!
No, not me, but if I had been there you would have been welcome to have a go
