1.
Ahhh I want one! Would you happen to know how the tone compares to a grabber?
Sorry mate, have not got a clue compared to a grabber
 2.
how's the neck dive on these?
Pretty much non existent tbh, have gigged them both and not had an issue.
 3. I'm thinning my collection of Gibson Thunderbirds, and need the funds for the latest hobby!!! My Black T'bird (not studio) which has signs of genuine roadware but plays like a dream, I've fitted flats on to it, if I recall it's a 1990 model. Comes with a fully functional but battered Brown oldstyle Gibson case with pink fluffy lining. (combination lock is not working, who locks cases anyway). Price is a fixed £650 (incl new picguard and Tone knobs). Original pickguard will be included, perfectly good just faded a tadge. The marks in the pic are wear not dents or deep scrathes, previous owner used it for it's proper purpose, I'm not and would like to thin my collection. It's a 22 year old bass that has miles under it's belt, it is not in prestine condition, nothing major though. Any questions please pm away, however I am not interested in any trades. I am based in Swindon but work in Brum so could meet enroute if required.

 6.
I would seriously take this to the Ernie Ball forums...
Just take a tin hat with you.....!
 7. Dealt with both, BassDirect in person and BassMerchat over phone and t'internet both excellent.......! It's Direct for me purely as it's 20 mins from my workplace..........
 8.
I play a Ricky 4003 and use Schallers. No problems ever Andy
^ This
 9. Just met up with Karl to pick up my nice, new, shiny precision. The bass is awesome, if anything Karl undersold it's condition, it is really superb. Karl was dead easy to deal with and waited while I could organise collection without asking for payment. I would have no hesitation dealing with him again and would highly recommend anyone else to deal with Karl with total confidence. Many thanks!!!!!!
 10. They are cool as f*ck and nothing like Chris2112 says
 11. Brilliantly simple deal for my Epi JC bass. No hassle and great communications. Phil collected the bass from my work and we had a good old chat about basses, bands etc. As it should be. Deal with Phil with complete confidence. Many thanks
 12.
I know many of us have sold great instruments and lived to regret it! (ive done this a few times) GAS is a terrible thing!! Now it may sound simple but ive come up with a way of really being sure about your current GAS cravings! This can save you lots of money and heartache! All you need to do is treat you and your bass to a really good clean up and a great set of new strings! This brings that bass back to life and reminds you why you bought it in the first place Try it next time your about to sell your number one bass!! it really works!
nah, will never work for me
 13.
Thanks to all for enquiries, now on hold, cheers, Karl.
14.
What do you guys and girls think? Have I been selfish?
Not at all, the only issue for you is when you tell the covers band you're moving oop t'north (assuming you'll be leaving them)
 15.
BUMP - would also trade for a MM Stingray 5
Don't you own one Mr Keeves is a top chap to deal with...have no fear here!!!
 16. Bit of a feeler here, but my gassing for a P-bass may persuade me to sell my JC. It's black, in almost perfect condition and comes with an Epiphone case that fits it like a glove. It comes with flats on it and has been professionally set up. Mine didn't come with the Metal Epi logo on it, so I put one on. Other than that it's pretty much as it came out of the box. Looking for a firm £450, big loss to me but the P bass gas is building. Will trade for a black/maple Fender P - MIM with cash to me or MIA with cash going the other way. Let me know any questions.......!

 18.
.. that this quest for the perfect bass bullshit, is BULLSHIT! I need a good bass, good strings, and my brain.
And working fingers!!
 19.
Unfortunately it doesn't always work like that. While everyone will probably still have a really good night, they may not forget about your set up if you end up delaying things like the cutting of the cake,or if no one can get in the room for hours.
Well fortunately for me I've only ever played relaxed do's where the wedding party do really mind too much if things don't run like clockwork. That's why proper function bands exist to play the weddings that do need strict timings adhered to.
 20.
The way it read to me was that they weren't known to the B&G as they had to stop as they were delaying the cutting of the cake.... sounds as if they were on a paid job... As said even if it was friends, I would think that you would want to give the best impression regardless of if you know them or not...
All I said was that I thought your response to his post was a bit harsh, which you agreed with.
 21.
I don't think it matters if its a function band or not-it shouldn't take 3 hours ( or even 4!!!!??? My God!) to set up a rig like that. Having said that,I know guys in bands who will spend nearly an entire afternoon in a pub, setting up stupid amounts of gear so that they can pretend to be rock stars in front of their mates.
Didn't say I agree, my post further up says it takes my bands less than an hour, I merely pointed out that I thought Crez's response was a bit brusque
 22.
True.... but I'm sure the bride and groom wouldn't be impressed let alone any potential bookings from people there... It's another part of what wedding/function bands do that pub bands generally don't
But without knowing more, they could be known to the B&G for instance. I play in two pub bands that regularly get asked to play weddings, the wedding party know exacltly what they get and makes there choices. I agree that for proper grown up function bands you pay more and get a different service. Many of our clients want a pub feel rather than a function feel and accept that you get what you pay for, doesn't make it right or wrong. Edit. plus if the band play well and the punters enjoy it they will forget about the set up issues!
